Historia
Throughout the human experience, historians have wondered “what if?”. What if Sherman had fought for the South in the US Civil War? What if Germany had fought to the end in World War I? What if World War III had actually happened? Wonder no more, for these questions, along with many others, are answered in this audiobook.

really good stories, but i enjoyed the previous 2 more, a story or 2 seemed forced, but dont let that get in your way. good narration, would recommend. start with book 1, some stories are continuations.

Historia
A young boy is found horribly murdered in a mock crucifixion. Is the murderer the elderly woman who witnessed the crime? A neurologist who can no longer bear the pain life inflicts on its victims? A psychiatrist with a macabre sense of humor and a guilty secret? A mysterious mental patient, locked in silent isolation? Lieutenant Kinderman follows a bewildering trail that links all these people, confronting a new enigma at every turn even as more murders surface. Why does each victim suffer the same dreadful mutilations? Why are two of the victims priests?

Better than book 1
Revisado: 01-31-20
I read The Exorcist years ago, i'm not going to say how many, and honestly didnt realize there was a book 2, this definiitely isnt like the second movie and i never saw the third.
I picked this one up on recommendation from another narrator I follow and It appears mr hempel has a metric ton of books for me to add to my wish list.
I read in another review he was flat and didnt have an accent. unless something is a miss in my old mind, i dont think Kinderman was said to have had an accent. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but in case someone read that and was going to use it as an excuse to not buy, I thought i'd drop my own opinion into the bucket. In my opinion, the story was good, but the narration made it so much more enjoyable.
5 stars all around and the closing 15% of the book is worth listening to the whole thing on its own. the performance at the end was stunning!

Oddly Enjoyable
Revisado: 11-21-19
A narrator I follow closely on here and FB, KC Johnston, suggested Sean Dureggers narration, and specifically this book.
Story 4Stars. It's a good story, but is definitely a bit dated. nothing jarring that takes you away from it, but it's still good, if they had half stars i'd say 4.5, but they do not.
Performance 5Stars. again if they did this in figure skating type scoring i'd say 4.7-4.8 but they do not. Duregger, does an overal solid job and it's clear crisp sounds. He did a good job of being in the story and drawing in the listener, though on a very few occasions he seemed a bit stilted, but that's just nit picking. very solid job. 5stars
Overall 5Stars. the narration really wins this one in the end and pushes the story up a notch. I'm going to buy a few more from this narrator and we shall see how it goes.
If you like Military Sci-Fi, it's worth the credit.

Historia
For Nick Soren, it was the best of times and the worst of times. Having made more money working for the devil than he could ever spend, he lived it up in a haze of booze and drugs. Until the devil put a hit out on him. On the run, Nick finds help from someone he never expected - another of the devil’s previous hit men - who wants Nick to kill the devil. But there are vampires and hell hounds on his tail, and that is going to make things...difficult. Can Nick get clear of the supernatural creatures hunting him long enough to take his shot and get revenge on the devil?

Really hope this becomes a series!
Revisado: 08-25-19
This appears to be a first novel, but it's written well enough that I wouldn't be surprised if it's not and the others just aren't in audio. I've read the print version to this as well, and the audio holds up. I'm not sure how this author wrote a story about a hitman for the devil that you can still root for! Loved all the characters and hope there is more in this universe. Genuinely unique take on the arcane underworld.
The narration is just top notch, and KC just keeps getting better! I've become a huge fan! His accents and voices are so good! Everyone is so distinct and consistent. Over the course of this year, i've found myself constantly checking his facebook for new release updates!
This book is self contained, but I do hope Mr Bolger will write a second one and more in this universe. seems like a universe prime for expanding.

Historia
Wil Calder is an astronaut when his experimental spacecraft breaks down near Neptune. What a crappy way to go, don't you think? Alone in the deep dark of space. Except that's not how the story ends, it's how it begins. He's rescued by alien smugglers, his pod sold for scrap. Then he's given a choice; join the crew or step out the airlock without his spacesuit. Which would you choose? Now, years later Wil is a lonely space smuggler himself looking for a crew because he's bored out of his skull. Because it turns out, space is lonely and boring, so Wil could use some friends.

Only complaint is the length, and that book 2 isn't out yet. We shall see what the future holds for the crew of The Ghost, hopefully sooner rather than later. Not sure this is a must listen, but it's solid like the others I've listed to from this narrator. book 2 please.

Small town, small world, great listen!
Revisado: 03-23-19
What a great way to spend 11 hrs! I started following the narrator on FB after listening to his first book, and picked this up as soon as I saw it was out. Really cant go wrong! A really well written and narrated book! It was a clean and fun story too and I was able to listen with my kids easily. Hope book 2 expands on the world a bit and fills some of the gaps.. but that's to be expected in a series... Can't wait for book 2, would really recommend this book.

In looking for more, this appears to be a debut for both narrator and author. If that is the case, truly color me surprised by the quality of story and performance! You all have set a high bar, and cannot wait for more from you both. Hope you two stay as a tag team.
I like how this book is paced and how the story builds throughout. Pace really picks up, hits hard and fast after the first 20min or so! Narrator does a great job with tone and emotions and love how he portrays the characters! Hope books 2 and 3 are longer. excited for more!
