This is one of those rare books that only come along once a year which leaves you feeling wholly satisfied. At the end I was sad it was over yet there was nothing left to ask for. It is so incredibly, beautifully written. I felt so in love and loved. Somehow I am quite positive I learned something new about love too.

its just so annoying and impossible to get past a narrator who is the voice of a teenage girl but sounds more like a 50 yo smoker. im not even sure what happened in the book. i could only concentrate on her voice. also, the romance was really weak and the "action" was lacking. boring.

ive had a thirst for a book just like this my whole life. i can listen to this series over and over. each time i glean something new. its soooo entertaining! the only bad part of it is that no other book compares. so waiting for book 3 is my only hope. oh and reading twilight for my "romance" fix. there is barely any romance in this book but thats the best part. you wont get beat down by love-y dove-y stuff.

the female voice should narrate childrens books. she sounds like a 7 yr old. the main
guy voice is alright. nothing special or fun. the stroy is sooooo boring i can barely pay attention. ugh. i want my credit back. oh and there are several voices for the guy parts and its so confusing im like "whos talking???"

Too much dialogue and not enough action. BUT still a great read and necessary for the series.

Ugh! The narrator makes every character sound like a 90210 kid. "like oh. my. god." she's especially horrible when it comes to Jace. He almosts sounds gay and he's not so its hard to see him as Clary's (the main character) love interest.

First, Id like to say why I gave the performance 1 star: Heather Lind makes most of the female characters sound like old whiny women except for the main character. If you've seen and heard the mother in Pride and Prejudice then imagine the female characters in this book to sound like her. Most of the women are younger than 22 and they sound like women in old age with high pitched annoying voices. The main character is 16 but sounds like she in her late 30's. Its disappointing and kind of hard to remember they are all young. Ed Westwick has a nice, sultry voice but again. The main character, Will, is 17 and sounds, well, old. Also, it is not easy to indentify the male voices becuase they sound the same. The accents he uses is a little too heavy at times and I have to listen to some parts more than once. This is one book that is better to actually read if you can. Otherwise adjusts your expectations and it works.

If you've read Clockwork Angel you are in for a better story here. Tessa and Will reach new heights and the story takes twists and turns you'd never expect. It will break you heart. The characters history or backgrounds are revealed in depth and its shocking. I found myself sympathizing with characters I hated in the first book. Nothing is what it seemed.

First, I have to say that the Tanya Eby has the nicest voice ever. I really wish I could have a conversation with her. And if you like/love dogs this book will leave you appreciating mans best friend even more. Fiona is a lovely character I could be friends with. I connected and felt something for all of the characters in this book. It was really well written. I can't wait to try my next Nora book!

The author does a great job of making this story of vampires believable and exciting. The conversations, drama, sex scenes, and fighting were balanced well. I would definitely try reading anything else she wrote.

The main characters, Cat and Bones, are flawed unforgivably by the narrators prepubescent voice. Cat, 22, sounds like a whiny 15 yr old and Bones, 200+, sounds like Kelly Osbourne. As for ALL the other characters... they all sound like a witch. Literally. Think of "hello my pretty" and you've got the voice of her mom, grandparents, and the ghost in the graveyard.

Now, the love story of the story is great for women who likes their boyfriend to be the opposite of a gentleman. For example, after they declare their love to each other he "roughs her up" so she can play the part of a drug addict. Since when do drug addicts look bruised and broken? Bones consistently puts Cat in mortal danger and nothing is thought of it by either character. He uses her as bait to lure other dangerous vampires and she gets hurt every time but neither one thinks twice about her safety. Its weird. But I try to appreciate if for being different.

My best advice, read it instead of listen to it.
