Learn how to pronounce SATIN
Revisado: 03-10-22
Not quite the comprehensive history I was hoping for, but it is Cooper's family tree. Cooper seems to want to assume a pro-slavery attitude for Alva without much back-up for that theory. My only other complaint is his pronunciation. of some words. Satin becomes "sadden". It drove me nuts.

Seriously?
Revisado: 03-13-18
Would you try another book from Sarah Pinborough and/or the narrators?
Probably not
Has Behind Her Eyes turned you off from other books in this genre?
I love mysteries and thrillers, fiction or non-fiction, but this out-of-body, body-switching is ridiculous. This whole story could have been great without the sci-fi aspect to it.
Which scene was your favorite?
None of them.
Was Behind Her Eyes worth the listening time?
I thought so at the beginning. I do not feel so as it ended.
Any additional comments?
I'm disappointed that I wasted a credit on this book.

Historia
George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States, has authored a personal biography of his father, George H. W. Bush, the 41st president. Forty-three men have served as president of the United States. Countless books have been written about them. But never before has a president told the story of his father, another president, through his own eyes and in his own words. A unique and intimate biography, the book covers the entire scope of the elder President Bush’s life and career.

LOVED this reading
Revisado: 01-28-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Such a great perspective. This story could not be told by anyone else.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that President Bush was reading the book. It made it that much more personal to me.
What about George W. Bush’s performance did you like?
That he spoke the way he always speaks. He slipped up a few words and that's what I like about him.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I made a personal connection to this book because it reminds me of what my Husband would say about his own Father. The love story is the same even if the men are different.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

Great. Just like the other Gillian Flynn books.
Revisado: 08-07-12
If you could sum up Sharp Objects in three words, what would they be?
What. The. Hell.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The evil mother was my favorite. She reminded me of the mother who killed her daughter in The Sixth Sense.
What about Ann Marie Lee’s performance did you like?
She reads in a way that I think the author intended.

Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

If you could sum up The Help in three words, what would they be?
Funny, heartbreaking, thought-provoking
Who was your favorite character and why?
Minnie was my favorite character. She was the most complex of any of the ladies in the story. Her relationships with the other characters were all so different
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
I felt like every voice was perfect.Hearing the different voices gave me a better mental picture of each character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The end
Any additional comments?
I didn't want to listen to this book because of all the hype and the movie. I thought it would be too

I was an object for someone to use and abuse. For eighteen years I was not allowed to speak my own name. I became a mother and was forced to be a sister. For eighteen years I survived an impossible situation. On August 26, 2009, I took my name back. My name is Jaycee Lee Dugard. I dont think of myself as a victim. I survived...."

I knew the story and I almost didn't want to hear it, but listening to it being to by Ms. Dugard added a whole new layer to the story. Her life was truly stolen, but she hasn't let it hold her back.
