Historia
Twelve-year-old Bird Gardner lives a quiet existence with his loving father, a former linguist who now shelves books in a university library. His mother, Margaret, a Chinese American poet, left without a trace when he was nine years old. He doesn’t know what happened to her—only that her books have been banned—and he resents that she cared more about her work than about him.

I hate writing reviews.
But this book deserves more than a review. It's beautiful and deeply thoughtful.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

I love this book.
I read Stephen King anything bc I like his style and creativity.
Some stories are spine-tingling, hide-your-eyes-behind-your-fingers.
Charlie's story was heroic and so beautiful.
It's not a take on a fairy tale. It IS a fairy tale, a lovely one with all the right elements.
The only thing I wish it had, was dragons lol. But Radar is an excellent stand in. ❤

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

So TWISTY!
Revisado: 12-29-17
This book is packed with twists! The great thing about that is how organized it all is. The listener can easily distinguish between characters in the narration while the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. A very worthy, twisty listen.

Good mystery-thriller
Revisado: 12-28-17
Kept on the edge of my seat with many possible suspects, it was a very good mystery-thriller. I kept wondering if this was book 2 in a series because of all the background info important to the characters just tossed around like we already knew all about it. otherwise, this was a good listen.
