Historia
It seems that the change that FBI agent Blake Wilder dreaded has been forced upon her. Still reeling from the aftermath of the shakeup, Blake packs up and attempts to adjust to her new reality. Upon arrival at the new office, the team receives an alert about escaped convicts from a prison transport traveling from Indiana. At the scene of the crime, the team finds one dead guard and a ton of bullet casings. Three inmates have escaped, and the rest of the prisoners in the transport have been rounded up.

Didn’t feel like a real FBI story
Revisado: 04-14-25
I wanted to like this story. Typically like stories with female heroines and mystery and since there were many in this series, I was looking forward to having others to read. I’m afraid the storyline just felt too weak so I guess this is the only one that I’ll be reading.

Historia
Maine, 1789: When the Kennebec River freezes, entombing a man in the ice, Martha Ballard is summoned to examine the body and determine cause of death. As a midwife and healer, she is privy to much of what goes on behind closed doors in Hallowell. Her diary is a record of every birth and death, crime and debacle that unfolds in the close-knit community. Months earlier, Martha documented the details of an alleged rape committed by two of the town’s most respected gentlemen—one of whom has now been found dead in the ice.

Remarkable

Story telling at its finest! I loved that this fictional story about an incredible midwife was actually based on a real woman. Stay to the very end and hear from the author. This book and the authors words are worth every moment of your time.
