So many violations, so little time...

This book started off so good...then everything after the vacation took a sharp left. While I understand and agree that certain decisions should be made with both partners in mind, to go around each other and involve friends and parents so that they can sway opinions is such a violation. At one point the story was all over the place and desperately needed to come back to center. I could've done without this one.

As hard as I tried, I just couldn't sympathize with the MFC. She was doing too much and I found myself wishing the MMC would move on with his life. This one just wasn't for me.

I loved their devotion to each other and how persistent he was. I also love the bond between the sisters. But please explain to me how this woman was supposedly smart enough to be whole college tutor, but dumb enough to believe that breast feeding is a form of birth control...BFFR!

Whew chiiile...this is a hot mess

This book is a delusional side-chick's fantasy. Both of the male characters spend most of the story gaslighting and mistreating their girlfriends to be "just friends" with the girl they told them not to worry about. All 4 of the female characters need serious self esteem boosts and are willing to take terrible treatment to avoid being single. The female lead is so naïve and gullible that its sad. The secondary male lead is so disrespectful that its borderline abusive. No....just no.

If you are looking for an actual love story or true connection between the main characters/couples, this ain't it. Try another one.

I was very into the story, then all of a sudden it jumps and nothing makes any sense. Obviously some of the story line is missing, and based on the things that happen before and after, the missing part is pretty important...

I had such high hopes because Eden saved the day in the last book, but here she was a mess. She was so whiny, had less than zero confidence, and felt sorry for herself the entire book. It was so annoying. Also, I'm so sick of the "he's mean, heavy handed, and overbearing because he loves you" trope. Stop teaching girls that toxic relationships are a goal!

The narrator did the best she could with what she was given.

wow...just wow

I have 500+ books in my audible library, and I'm not kidding when I say this one is in my top 5. There were so many unexpected aspects to this story. I was worried it would be a typical hood romance, but I've never been so glad to be wrong. The plot kept me engaged, the performance was perfect, and the imagery was powerful and perfectly detailed. The music references were so good that I made a playlist lol. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Allen and hearing more from Ms. Small.

Wooooow.... just wow. As usual Ms. Turpin gave a great performance. The story was gripping and gritty and I didn't want it to end. Definitely recommend it
