Historia
For the Nameless Restaurant, once a discreet hole-in-the-wall meant for a cast of supernatural regulars, the increasing levels of background magic has brought with it that most dreadful of locusts—new customers. The staff of the Nameless Restaurant are finding the influx of new customers—both mortal and magical—to be a challenge. They're reaching a breaking point, and something has to give. The only question is, will it be Mo Meng's rules on magic or the restaurant itself?

Don’t listen when hungry
Revisado: 04-14-25
It was great to return to the Nameless Restaurant. This is my version of cozy. With just some tension to make you curious about the new customers, but comforting to know the restaurant will close as normal.

Unnerving, yet rewarding story
Revisado: 02-29-24
I think It’s been a while since I’ve read a book with such spellbinding storytelling, dripping in atmosphere and elaborate lore. The plot was unnerving, yet rewarding. It reads like a folktale - with actual interludes featuring stories between each chapter, and in this case I can forgive my the lack of well-developed characters and character relationships (my usual preference). The story, the twists, the reveals, and the resolution were absolutely enough for me.
Logan lives in a small community, where they have to lock themselves in their homes at sundown for fear of the monsters that go bump in the night. To some degree, think of M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Village” for the vibes. Their only protection is the Magpie King, an inhuman savior of lore that the villagers have never seen…until….
I recommend this for folks looking for a short, fantasy-horror, who like folktales, who want something completely it’s own, or want a creepy forest (though it’s not the forest’s fault there are terrifying creatures that will eat you).

I LOVED this book
Revisado: 01-09-24
Holy cow I LOVED this book. It’s a paranormal story about a woman, her grandmother and gods in Malaysia. It was a ride and I quickly finished this. It often has a humorous tone that resonated with me, but it tackled some heavy issues as well. I didn’t absolutely love the novella I read previously by Cho, but this put them on the radar for me.

The Caldwells have one goal in life: to be left alone. They’ve been living on the backwater planet of C’dar for years, smuggling and scavenging their way to a comfortable life on their homestead. But you know the saying about all good things - they come to an end. The civilization wasn’t content with falling apart the first time and has finally caught wind of the ol’ boys and girls on their little rock in the middle of nowhere.

Gem of a Self Pub
Revisado: 12-05-21
I loved this book and the narration is excellent. Folks who like the family aspects and/or audiobook narrator of Kings of the Wyld or the dramatic tone and wild-west-esque atmosphere and landscape of the show __Justified__ (but with mutants, bionic humans and space guns) will enjoy this one.

Bad narration and sound editing
Revisado: 06-04-21
To me the narration overall was just a no-go between the narrator’s voice and tone and the way it was edited. I’d be way more forgiving of a narration done by a narrator whose voice I don’t care for, but in this case I think it was just a poor production.

A boom to warm your heart
Revisado: 01-10-21
This book (particularly in the form of an audiobook) brought me so much joy. It has a lot of heart, fun dialogue and epic adventure - what a great way to start the year. I love stories that highlight familial love and friendship, so this checked a lot of boxes for me. The narrator did a FANTASTIC JOB and he elevated the book in my opinion. I can't wait to pick this up way day down the road in physical form.
