Heartbreakingly Disappointing and Insulting

Oof, not what I was hoping for, but Then!!
Revisado: 12-11-20
As most here I loved the first book, being a lifelong gamer and an 80's child the references we spot on and created nostalgia along with a great story. This book, probably the most disappointing follow up novel since "Artemis" after "The Martian" is bad, not sure else how to put it. The references too obscure to connect to for most people and the style, then this happened, Then this happened, THEN this happened, ugh.
Honestly I'm not sure Ernest actually wrote this book, it might be a fan novel that he subbed in. While I realize that I have never put myself out there to write a novel and it takes a great deal of work and talent, my summary hits on the disappointment I feel towards this story. While I won't give up on Ernest, 2 of 3 I've read were good. This one will make me hesitant next time.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

More. The premise is good but left undeveloped. While a good quick listen, was left wanting for a larger plot and depth.

Revisado: 12-28-18
Masterfully put together to keep toddlers attention. My son and I listened to the entire book in one long trip and when we finished, he asked if we could start again. That's the best review I can think of for an audiobook and a 4 year old.

The Last Pendergast Novel For Me...
Revisado: 03-20-18
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Would not recommend, I have read all of the other Pendergast novel but the series has become very predictable and I find myself remiss to continue.
What was most disappointing about Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child ’s story?
There was very little intrigue in the same old evil character brought back from the dead again and again. After this book I found myself hoping the protagonist would pass on for good.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
NO.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Just disappointing
Revisado: 01-24-18
The author use some of the aspects of the Martian to make the book at least interesting but overall a disappointing second book from Andy Weir.

Interesting Material; Flat Narrator
Revisado: 07-06-17
The material is a very interesting take comparing neural processing to the Bible and practical steps to accomplishing change. The narrator though was difficult to stay interested in and my thoughts tended to wander which at least I noticed and tried to correct.

I appreciated that the author read the book, it gave it an original quality as though the characters were part of himself. A classic moral fable at its root that left me angry at times at the shadow of our humanity.

With his characteristic eyebrow-raising behavior, Richard P. Feynman once provoked the wife of a Princeton dean to remark, "Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman!" But the many scientific and personal achievements of this Nobel Prize-winning physicist are no laughing matter. Here, woven with his scintillating views on modern science, Feynman relates the defining moments of his accomplished life.

Historia
I almost didn't publish Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It. I was terrified. Here I was, a CEO who'd fallen apart after his company failed, writing a book about how loving himself saved him. I thought I'd be a laughing stock and my career would be finished. But I stepped through the fears and shared my truth with the world. What happened next changed my life. The book went viral. Amazing people all over shared it online and on social media. They bought copies for friends and family. They wrote heartfelt reviews. For some, this book literally saved their lives.
