Better than I expected
Revisado: 01-24-24
I wasn’t expecting much, but it actually was well done. She was very open and vulnerable about her experience. The majority of the book is about her playboy experience.

Powerful book
Revisado: 10-26-23
This is a powerful that really highlights how the patriarchy has harmed this woman so much, but still she spreads her wings and flies. She’s no longer needs to feel so small.

From one SCI to another
Revisado: 05-30-23
Sophie does an excellent job of articulating the complex feelings of before and after sustaining a SCI. Thank you for telling your story, I can only imagine how painful that was.

Historia
Shot point-blank in the side of the neck, Michael Kiel was completely paralyzed from the neck down on April 16, 1993. As a 19-year-old sophomore at Penn State - Altoona campus, the world he knew vanished. It was turned upside down and inside out, and the next four months in the hospital and rehab center would test every fiber of his being. This memoir is about his perspective on life - his entire life - before, during, and after a life-altering spinal cord injury.

Must listen to!
Revisado: 07-27-21
I am paralyzed from the waist down, I met Mike very early on in my injury… and I was not in a mental state to handle much of anything. After 10+ years I got myself together and have come to know mike as a professional contact and friend. Listening to this book was very enlightening to me and makes me understand him and his family much more. I am grateful he got this to audible so I could finally “read his book”. I believe everyone should listen to/read his book! It really is about enjoying the moment in life and not about the end destination!
Thank you for pouring your heart out mike for other people to learn more about you and your life as a quadriplegic.
