Historia
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Fishburne Shines
Revisado: 10-22-21
Laurence Fishburne's performance was stellar and it brings the anger, the impatience, the quality of searching for something—a deeper truth, maybe—ever present in Malcolm X's life, to life.

Historia
Since the New Deal in the 1930s, there have been two eras in our political history: the liberal era, stretching up to the 1970s, followed by the neoliberal era of privatization and austerity ever since. In each period, the dominant ideology was so strong that it united even partisan opponents. But the neoliberal era is collapsing, and the central question of our time is what comes next. As acclaimed legal scholar and policy expert Ganesh Sitaraman argues, two political visions now contend for the future.

Manifesto for E Warren
Revisado: 03-09-20
It goes quickly and it makes an interesting case for social democracy. At the end of it you'll get a high level sense of what at least one strain of social democracy advocates as the problems and solutions to America.

Exceptional
Revisado: 09-27-17
This is a harrowing story of human faith, love and loss. The book records Elie Wiesel's experiences as an adolescent in various concentration camps during the Second World War. As it unfolds we see the extent of human cruelty; our savagery in the face of biting hardship and certain extermination; and how love, even in the worst of situations, can give us strength beyond anything we knew possible. I don't have the words to describe what you will find. But I shall say this: This is one of the very best audible productions I've ever experienced. The narrator perfectly understand the story being told, and he brings it to life.

Great audiobook, OK book
Revisado: 07-05-15
I must commend the narrator, Brian. He did an excellent job of bringing the book to life. His pace was comfortable and his speaking clear, it was easy to keep up with him.
The book itself was, well, so so. I think the advice in it is very useful, and I would recommend it to anyone serious about improving how they think. But I have two criticisms:
(a) The authors try to do too much with their suggestions on how to think effectively. One minute I was reading about the creation of calculus, the next it was about how to lose weight, and so on. The examples were all over the place, and not always directly relevant to the issue at hand, While it may be possible to extend their suggestions to all these areas, the effect of reading all this made one wonder if it was a book on how to think better or one of those vague, all-round self help books.
(b) The structure of the book wasn't great. I frequently found that they were referring back to ideas they mentioned earlier I different sections. To be sure, most of the ideas are linked, but they could have been more explicit about the linkages.
Overall, I still believe this is a book that contains a good deal that can help a person think better, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in this. But I wish the authors had spent a bit more time trying to make the book more concise.
