Historia
More than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but there are signs it is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, the lives of three radically different women converge, with potentially explosive results. Two have grown up as part of the first generation to come of age in the new order. The testimonies of these two young women are joined by a third: Aunt Lydia. Her complex past and uncertain future unfold in surprising and pivotal ways.

Stunning Sequal

Loved this book! Narration was good, writing was phenomenal. Plot kept me interested and the tie ins to the original handmaid’s tale was really cool. Worth the read/listen!

Historia
Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans - except Katniss.

So good!
Revisado: 04-08-23
The actress who narrates is fantastic and these books just keep getting better the more I read them. The way Suzanne Collins writes about trauma, grief and ptsd is compelling. I hope she writes more after Ballad of songbirds and snakes!

Historia
What's right is right. Sonya Kantor knows this slogan—she lived by it for most of her life. For decades, everyone in the Seattle-Portland megalopolis lived under it, as well as constant surveillance in the form of the Insight, an ocular implant that tracked every word and every action, rewarding or punishing by a rigid moral code set forth by the Delegation. Then there was a revolution. The Delegation fell. Its most valuable members were locked in the Aperture, a prison on the outskirts of the city. And everyone else, now free from monitoring, went on with their lives.

Worth the read
Revisado: 01-26-23
Veronica Roth does dystopian very well! Big fan of the divergent series. Poster Girl was a pleasure to read and an easy book to get lost in. I’d like to see a sequel, but it’s a great standalone book. It gives Big Brother but with more relatable characters to people in their 20’s-40’s.
