Historia
When the daughter of prominent civil litigator Graham Hutchins is found with her throat slashed, the woman's spurned ex-boyfriend seems the likely suspect. But only days later, the young man dies in what appears to be a suicide. Or was it? Now authorities are faced with a possible new crime. And their person of interest is Hutchins. After all, avenging the death of his daughter is the perfect reason to kill. If he's as innocent as he claims, only one lawyer has what it takes to prove it: his friend and colleague Samantha Brinkman.

Kept me guessing until the end
Revisado: 12-25-24
Storyline kept me guessing until the end. Great interlacing of the main storyline and a side one. Great character development as you grew to love the characters.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Absolutely Amazing
Revisado: 12-17-22
Since it was from Steven King, I imagined something different. To my delight the story gripped me from the beginning in the development of the trust between two strangers at different stages of their lives and continued into the wonderful journey to a mystical place. The authors genius storytelling skills pull you into both worlds and keep you.

Historia
The first time violinist Julia Ansdell picked up the "Incendio Waltz" in a darkened antique shop in Rome, she knew it was a strikingly unusual composition. The minor key and complex feverish arpeggios have a life of their own. But when she plays the piece, Julia blacks out and awakens to find her small daughter implicated in acts of surprising violence. When she travels to Venice to find the previous owner of the music, she uncovers a heart-stoppingly dark secret....

Impactful story
Revisado: 02-06-21
The telling of the story in the historical flashback was so vivid, you can actually experience what the characters felt as they went through that horrific time in history. Well told. It overshadowed the current day storyline to make it a worthwhile listen.
