Historia
For more than 40 years, the US government has researched extrasensory perception, using it in attempts to locate hostages, fugitives, secret bases, and downed fighter jets, to divine other nations' secrets, and even to predict future threats to national security. The intelligence agencies and military services involved include CIA, DIA, NSA, DEA, the navy, air force, and army - and even the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Now, for the first time, New York Times best-selling author Annie Jacobsen tells the story of these radical, controversial programs.

Topic is ridiculous, she believes it anyway.
Revisado: 10-05-22
At first I taught that narration from the point of view of someone who really don't know anything and is amazed by all the magic happening, would be interesting for understanding why anybody actually believed in this crap in first place. Unfortunately this attitude will never leave you in this book. There is no ridicule at the end, There is no satisfaction of revealing the tricks, no Galium spoons, psychology of imagination,.. nothing. It was implied sometimes. Comments from real scientists like Carl Sagan were interesting.
But overall it was just disappointing.
It was however extensive view into wasteful spending of taxpayer's money.

Historia
Total Competition is the most compelling, comprehensive and revealing insight into what it takes to get to the top in Formula One that has ever been published. Across four decades, Ross Brawn was one of the most innovative and successful technical directors and then team principals in Formula One. Leading Benetton, Ferrari, Honda, Brawn and Mercedes, he worked with drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton to make them world champions.

Interesting but way too fanboy like.
Revisado: 08-20-21
I must say it was interesting. I don't like Ross Brawn and I have to oppose a lot of his ideas and claims and solutions, but I tried to listen to this with an opened mind and let him tell his story from his perspective. I was plessantly surprised and angry at the same time.
It brings interesting perspective in to history of F1, but unfortunatelly it is also crystal clear how alibistic Ross is. For example his ''risk with mentioning how new rules didn't work, was in fact an gross attempt to make his double diffuser even more effective by making rules for normal diffusers even more restrictive. The way he is talking about it in this book is just ridiculous.
And uintentional rule breaks?! Are you kidding me? Every single team Ross was in, was cheating like crazy. Every single one :-D

Revisado: 12-12-19
Story is amazing, but it suffers being radio play instead of just book reading.
I'm hoping for reading version in furure.
