Historia
The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame...and of a struggle between good and evil that will turn church against state, and brother against brother.

I gave up.
Revisado: 09-12-22
The style is competent. The story is silly. I gave up after a completely implausible scene between a starving man, freezing to death in the woods, immediately after the death of his beloved wife and a female forest thief. This guy had incredible sex when he was near dead? A woman takes off her clothes in the winter to resuscitate a dying man with sex? Puhleese! I wonder if the author ever met a woman. ‘James Bond’ writers would choke. This book would be a great read for a 13 year old boy. Can I have my credit back?

Historia
Fly fishermen everywhere will enjoy these varied, witty, and engaging adventures by one of America’s finest outdoor writers. There is a long section on trout fishing called "Brookies, Browns, and Bows", and another on the challenges and excitement of saltwater fly fishing, and an exciting group of memoirs about fishing near home and in far-flung and often exotic places - like the Minipi, Bighorn, and Norfolk rivers, where the trout can beggar the imagination, and where frustration can be the occupational hazard.

This book transports me back to many fishing trips by its detailed descriptions. It also take me on exotic trips I will likely never make. Thanks for the memories.
