Historia
This memoir written by writer, orator, and former slave Frederick Douglass describes, in gripping detail, the circumstances of his upbringing, his brutal treatment at the hands of slave-owners, and his narrow escape from Maryland to freedom. Written in 1845, this narrative is one of the most famous works of American literature and provided fuel for the abolitionist movement that began in the early 19th century.

United States of America, hear me now
Revisado: 12-23-20
This autobiography there’s a significant part of American history. It is a document of an eyewitness of his experience of slavery during his own lifetime. To come back to ignorance of slavery his narrative should be taught in schools across the United States as curriculums. Education is the only way to combat racial ignorance

Historia
Seldom does a book have the impact of Michelle Alexander’s The New Jim Crow. Since it was first published in 2010, it has been cited in judicial decisions and has been adopted in campus-wide and community-wide reads; it helped inspire the creation of the Marshall Project and the new $100 million Art for Justice Fund; it has been the winner of numerous prizes, including the prestigious NAACP Image Award; and it has spent nearly 250 weeks on the New York Times best seller list.

Honest review
Revisado: 12-22-20
I believe this book is factually correct. From the research that I’ve done I found things that support the narrative of this book. I highly recommend it as a source of factual evidence for Jim Crowe against black folks in this country.

Historia
Millions are satisfied to sit through hour-long, weekly religious services. Millions more have left the church, brokenhearted and cynical. But God is waking up his people - people who will risk everything and sacrifice anything to become the dynamic, powerful church seen in Scripture. We Are Church calls Christ-followers, young and old, to hold fast to their biblical roots while seeking radical change. Scripture promises an exuberant and unstoppable church. That wondrous early church of acts can be our reality today.

John Snead’s review
Revisado: 12-22-20
This is an excellent book. I love the way he explains through the use of analogies. Authors love to have recommendations but this is more than that. This is useful for those who are trying to live the life of a disciple. I would recommend this book for those who do not practice the Christian faith. I have been a disciple for over four years now. Excellent spiritual book to have in my library. Transparency is what’s needed in the Christian church. This book is an excellent reflection of this.

Historia
John Eldredge calls men back to a simple and reassuring truth: God is our father. In life's trials and triumphs, God is initiating boys and men through the stages of manhood from beloved son to cowboy to warrior to lover to king to sage. Fathered by God maps out the path of manhood - not more rules, not another list of principles, not formulas, but a sure path men have followed for centuries before us.

My perspective
Revisado: 06-18-20
I felt that a lot of his personal stories we’re fine to listen to. I do not feel that all of his personal stories connected with the biblical passages that were stated. I read it with a group of men I’ve home or my brothers in Christ. I appreciate the effort and was able to pull several Jewels
and I will apply to my life
