both books together make a very good story. I enjoyed the characters and their development. suspenseful twists.

Over a decade and the end of the story has not been published. Ending leaves you hanging. My recommendation is to wait to read or listen until the ending is published. Good writing and production, but I would never have started if I'd realized it wasn't finished and has not been for sooooo long.

Great book, but the whole story is only 2/3 finished and it has been over a decade since the second book was published. Had I realized this, I would not have put in the many hours of listening until the trilogy was completed. The trend in publishing to have serials rather than stand alone books makes financial sense for the industry I suppose, but not for readers. Save your time and credit and wait for the author to finish this story. Then read the whole thing.

Not good for my work ethic

Expect romances to follow a predictable pattern, but this one was extremely engaging and really captured my attention and held my interest. I actually sat down to listen to the last third of the book where my ordinary habit is to listen while working on various tasks. Not good for my work ethic, but very fun. Bride ship history was new to me too.

rushed ending

liked the trilogy overall, but it had the feeling of a book that needed to be wrapped up for business purposes. thought I'd fallen asleep and missed something, so went back to check. nope. really was a headlong rush to wrap up.

So refreshing to have a whole book and not just the first third of a poorly written trilogy or whatever. I'm getting so tired of that gimmick to sell more books. NONE of that here. and so nice to have a really well written book with unique characters on a unique world. I agree that this would make a good movie.

beware incomplete series

I didn't realize it wasn't complete with the two "2 book publishers packs". recommend waiting til they finish the book before buying. this isn't a series of related books with complete stories in each, but just however many chapters of a single story broken into profitable bits. next bits may show they are stringing the story out. great narration and excellent concept . if they finish it. wait and see. if more people refuse to play along, maybe publishers will stop doing this.

I struggled at times, especially with this last book. I got tired of the slog. So I left it for awhile and came back. problem was probably reading all three back to back. Nevertheless, it has an intriguing wrap up. so I still enjoyed it.
