Historia
Brooke Shields has spent a lifetime in the public eye. Growing up as a child actor and model, her every feature was scrutinized, her every decision judged. Today Brooke faces a different kind of scrutiny: that of being a “woman of a certain age.” And yet, for Brooke, the passage of time has brought freedom. At fifty-nine, she feels more comfortable in her skin, more empowered and confident than she did decades ago in those famous Calvin Kleins. Now, in Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, she’s changing the narrative about women and aging.

Terrible Announcer

The voice used for this book is awful. It was painful listening to this book’s advice. The stories are good, though.

Lot of Info
Revisado: 12-26-24
It could have been shorter and was repetitive… long winded… and missing sound from experts. Perhaps the repetition over and over and over again was designed to remind us of the same two-step rule for every chapter.
The good part: the stories, and, the chapter on relationships.

Revisado: 04-13-21
This is the best story and production I’ve experienced on Audible. I love music, growing up on rock & roll in Detroit. Coupled with travel, creativity and candor, Sting blew my mind. Normally, I listen to fall asleep late at night. Not this time. I didn’t want to miss a second of what he had to say or sing. Thank you for sharing.

Move Into Action ... You're Going Places
Revisado: 11-22-14
What did you love best about Step Into Your Greatness (Live)?
I love Les's voice, his story telling and his messages. The audio quality was excellent. I felt like I was in the audience. I laughed and I cried.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Step Into Your Greatness (Live)?
The importance of never giving up. The importance of believing in other people's dreams in you until you believe in yourself. The importance of having mentors in your life to emulate. My favorite is the ending with the story about Mr. Butterball and how Les secured his first job at a radio station in Miami without any broadcast experience. That he waited for his chance and was prepared when he stepped up to the microphone when a disc jockey one Saturday afternoon was too drunk to finish his shift. He practiced until he got his big break. He didn't take "no" for an answer. He just kept going despite all his limiting self beliefs, lack of education and experience, he won in life.
What about Les Brown’s performance did you like?
Les shares with us his real life experiences. He's not making up some slick ad material trying to sell us something we don't need. He's giving us the keys to make our life better. He wants to help us and you can hear it in his voice. He is an angel from God who has the gift of a beautiful voice, one we need to listen to over and over again.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved this audio book so much that I purchased the DVD. It is one of my favorite speeches that Les gives. They are all flawless, but this one hits home because of the stories that he shares with his audience.
Any additional comments?
If Les can do it, so can anybody! Get out there and try and don't quit until you die.
