After reading a lot of contemporary m/m, I was in the mood for something different. I started listening and…was just sucked completely in. Great sci-fi + pulp fiction + gay + romance. It’s like four genres in one! A great escapist tale - and Kirt Graves was awesome.

Owen is truly one of the most memorable, lovable characters I've ever come across. Neve Wilder accomplished something truly special in bringing Dan and Owen together so deftly - and Nick J. Russo's ability to fully embody both Dan and Owen was truly next level. Yes, I used truly three times in a row - because I'm a jumbled mess after listening to this. What an amazing experience.

What did you love best about Pitch Anything?

This isn't a feel-good self-help book, but a book with a plan to actually convey and support a way of doing something specific (pitching your idea) that comes across as entertaining and invaluable.

What did you like best about this story?

It doesn't matter what your background is, what you know, what you want other people to know—what matters here is knowing that the unique social activity of "pitching" has its own rules, flow, pitfalls and rewards. And as much as he talks about dominance, confidence and status control, it's really about manufacturing opportunities to surprise people with what they didn't know they wanted: you and your ideas.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Oren Klaff?

I haven't read the written version of this book yet, but the audio version comes across less as an audiobook and more like a seminar. Frankly, he's a terrible narrator (talks too fast, pauses unnaturally in the middle of sentences or even mid-phrase, ad libs, flubs words) but after the first hour it feels like a seminar you're glad to be attending.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The story of the stodgy executive eating an apple as Oren began his pitch—and what he did in response—was funny, satisfying and educational. The story of the power of French Waiters was also hilarious.
