Good but a little empty in parts
Revisado: 12-18-20
A very enjoyable listen, good story line, excellent narration, there were a few spots where it just seemed lacking in where the story was supposed to go. Almost like the author had something else planned for the scene. very good whodunit though and definitely with a listen.

Great book. mediocre narration

Loved the story and characters but the narration was almost lifeless. I hope the next in the series is better.

Historia
Here is one of the best historical novels ever written. Lame, stammering Claudius, once a major embarrassment to the imperial family and now emperor of Rome, writes an eyewitness account of the reign of the first four Caesars: the noble Augustus and his cunning wife, Livia; the reptilian Tiberius; the monstrous Caligula; and finally old Claudius himself. Filled with poisonings, betrayal, and shocking excesses, I Claudius is history that rivals the most exciting contemporary fiction.

Historia
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Documentary told very well
Revisado: 04-20-19
this is a documentary still very scary because it is real. A psychologist specializing in psychological trauma once told me that after a couple years of being the profession she can truthfully say that there are real monsters in this world. this is the story of one of those monsters.

Story is good but characters are so so
Revisado: 04-04-19
I enjoyed the book overall but Davenport is not a good person. In the first book he was at least someone you could root for but in this one his infidelity goes too far. Give the guy some morals. with that said the writing really is excellent and the story line is good. definitely worth a read.

The thrilling new Virgil Flowers novel from the #1 New York Times best-selling author. The superstore chain PyeMart has its sights set on a Minnesota river town, but two very angry groups want to stop it: local merchants, fearing for their businesses, and environmentalists, predicting ecological disaster.
