Historia
Lucy and Ethel. Laverne and Shirley. Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche, and Rose. Chicken-Fried Women is a celebration of them: the women who raised us, taught us to cook and clap back. The ones who prayed for us, raged at us and humbled us a notch or two when we needed it. These are the women who have encouraged us, teased us, chastised us, and mortified us. And as they fill up the seats around our table, we realize we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I laughed & cried. I was moved I am inspired. Relationships create the beauty in our lives. Melissa should also become a character’s voice in a movie.

The narrators voice, pronunciation & flow of reading was killing me. I wanted to finish the whole story but I couldn’t. She ruined it. I sorry.

DEVISTATING

I couldn’t pause the story. I am so sorry for all these children (who then grow up). It’s absolutely awful!

Historia
In its heyday, The Golden Hotel was the crown jewel of the hotter-than-hot Catskills vacation scene. For more than sixty years, the Goldman and Weingold families - best friends and business partners - have presided over this glamorous resort which served as a second home for well-heeled guests and celebrities. But the Catskills are not what they used to be - and neither is the relationship between the Goldmans and the Weingolds.

Fun easy summer read
Revisado: 08-27-21
Sometimes when listening to a story with a lot of characters it can be harder to remember which character is who. There were a lot of characters. But, the story was sweet, fun and I surprised about the ending, pleasantly surprised. The story didn’t need curse words, I think it would have been better without them. It wasn’t that kind of story that needed them for drama, that’s my opinion.
Fun & sweet story. Get it.

This book captivated me.

I enjoyed this book, lots of emotions and I loved the relationships. Great story!!!
The ONLY down side was the sex scenes when Molly was a teen. It felt as if I were reading Judy Blume books again.

I tried
Revisado: 07-27-19
This book didn’t keep my attention but it may have been because of the narrator’s voice. There were moments in the story that would peek my interest but it wasn’t consistent. I admit, I didn’t finish the book so it may have been better that 3 stars. I tried...
