The weakest of all this series
Revisado: 04-23-25
I have been listening to this series for years. Preacher, Conrad , the last Gunfighter and the others are usually quite compeling. This story is more like a comic book.
Seriously, how many times does a villain try and kill the hero yet the hero never figures out he should not trust her?
Weak story

Historia
In Montana Territory, one name above all others strikes fear and hatred in the hearts of the Crow Indians - John Jackson, better known these days as Liver-Eating Jackson. Consumed by grief and rage, the mountain man has brutally killed 10 braves so far in his one-man war of vengeance against the Crow, who murdered his beloved wife. Smoke Jensen knows Jackson by another name - "friend." He's not sure to what extent Jackson's exploits are true - devastating loss and frontier savagery have certainly driven lesser men mad.

Ok, but not the best
Revisado: 04-16-25
It was good for a over view of Smoke’s and Preachers life but the story itself suffered

Not as good as most of this type
Revisado: 03-04-25
I have listened to several hundred of this genre. This is one of the worst. Too many characters and the frequent use of nicknames for the characters made the story hard to follow

Historia
Framed for murder, Dewey "Mac" McKenzie is running for his life. Though Mac's never even made a pot of coffee, he talks his way onto a cattle drive heading west as a chuckwagon cook. Turns out he has a natural talent for turning salt pork and dried beans into culinary gold. He's as good with a pot and pan as he is with a gun, which comes in handy on a dangerous trail drive beset with rustlers, hostile Indians, ornery weather, and deadly stampedes. Mac can hold his own with any cowboy twice his age. At least until the real showdown begins . . .

Revisado: 02-07-25
Unlike many of this type of audio western, this one does a nice job of rounding out the characters and I recommend it

Historia
Holt’s latest job is in Devil’s Gulch in Colorado Territory. But wiping out bands of bank robbers is just the beginning. More disorder is brewing, and the skittish mayor has handpicked Holt as the new sheriff. Holt is what the town needs: a mercenary with a badge, a loaded Remington, and a deadeye-aim for trouble. Devil’s Gulch has the vigilance committee. The man behind it—Joe Mullen, the largest rancher and mine owner in the valley—isn’t keen on an outsider like Holt muscling in on a good thing. Mullen already has his hand in all the crime in Devil’s Gulch.

Historia
He's the son of a cattle rancher. A restless young dreamer who, under normal circumstances, would follow in his father's footsteps. Normal, however, is not his style. Not nearly as good as the others in the series
Revisado: 05-09-24
Previous books in series deal with American operators that are heros that you can root for in suspenseful and believable operations. This book is dark and gloomy about a post apocalyptic west coast dominated by waring modern day mafia and the characters seem to run together
