What is a crimson trail? Is it blood? Or paint? Or yarn? Why would Sherlock Holmes revisit a previously solved case? How could an open window be important and how can a house be blackmailed? Dr. John Watson reveals the answers to these questions in The Crimson Trail and Other Stories along with cases involving the disappearance of a poet's intended, a Christmas card clue, a missing tiara, a caped murderer, a vampire attack, and a mythical moor creature.

RAF at it's finest, WWII.
Revisado: 03-22-23
A well written and well narrated of a bomber base flying bombing missions into German targets through out the war. Very realistically written and narrated. Nevil Shute's novel is spot on and Frank Muller is a master of his craft. Highly recommended for a realistic tale. You will be transported to bomber missions without the "flak".

One of Hemingways Best
Revisado: 01-05-23
An excellent narration of the unabridged version of "For Whom The Bell Tows"
I saw Gary Cooper/Ingrid Bergmann version years ago and it was short and not so nearly humanistic.
It sad that prudish librarians would ban it from libraries for so many years.
It is quite lengthy, but we'll worth the listen.

The more I listened the less believable the story became.
The plot was pretty far fetched & the narrator stumbled along trying to change character voices.
All toll, Pretty boring. Something to fall asleep too.

I'm a great admirer of Charles Dicken's works related to mid-nineteenth century London. This beautifully written work does much to capture that same mystique. And Humphrey Bower's narration is "Spot On". I highly recommend it to you who enjoy the Dickensian Genre.
