I really enjoyed this light hearted girl-inspector gadget book. I found myself in a good mood when listening to and found that I couldn't wait to hear more each time I could listen to the book. Lynsay needs to get on the stick and make this a series. Its tooooo cute and a fun. I miss the characters and want to hear more about their adventures as spies

Little long winded, worth a credit though!
Revisado: 09-14-13
Any additional comments?
The book was enjoyable as it involved time travel, technology and history. It was a little long for my tastes, but the author is clearly a long time writer with the talent to be able to weave the story for 15+ hours! Every "time travel" story that is written allows the writer to come up with their 'take' on how the space time continuum could be explained and this writer had some great *new* ideas. This book would be a good addition to your library if you are a fan of 'time travel' books. Returning? Nope. Felt this one was worth my time and 1 credit.

Stupid cover art, well chosen narrator! Grade A
Revisado: 08-13-13
What did you love best about Walking Shadow?
Well this book reminded me of a cross between total recall (movie), eternal sunshine (movie) and ready player one (book) and being as I loved all those titles I loved this book! The story had lots of plot twists and keep me guessing and I wanted to listen to more by this author. But this is his first 'book' published and that is a dang shame! This author needs to figure out how to quit his day job and just write. As for the cover art? Seriously lame. Not catchy and had I not taken the time to listen to the sample I would have never known what a great find this was.
Have you listened to any of Christopher John Fetherolf’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
If you've listened to Bill the vampire series you will recognize the voice. Perfect fit.

Any additional comments?
It took me a couple chapters to decide if I loved or hated the book. Then I realized what I was not sure about was being imersed "total guy point of view" and not realizing it (Lol). Once I accepted/understood I was listening to a dude's point of view (with his smelly gym socks and all!) I found myself really rooting for him. Now I am on Team Bill...that stupid lovable bastard.

This is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.

can't help but think the writer was on something when this story was written? Like some edible mushrooms?!? I personally did not think this novel was powerful or provocative (as the new york times claimed). But then again, I also think the human race is capable of many great and stupid things-- just give us enough time and rope and we will figure out how to hang ourselves. So I had a hard time listening to this book. I read fiction because I want fantasy, not a moral wrapped up in a blanky served up as a science fiction book. Ug. But that is just me. Clearly this book is liked by a lot of people.

Revisado: 12-22-12
Would you try another book from Patrick Rothfuss and/or Nick Podehl?
uh. probably not.
Any additional comments?
I couldn't get past the first 3 chapters! My friend loved this book and raved about it. Sometimes she and I love the same stuff and other times we are so far polar opposite I wonder how we can be such good friends! I want my credit back. As I keep trying to listen to the book I was like: "what the heck is going one, what is all the blah blah blah about what is the freaking point of the story?" so I tried to restart from the beginning 4 times!!! I could not get past the on and on and on and on and on and on and on about nothing and it wasn't funny like sienfeld (a show about nothing). My friend swore the book got better but she loves giant books. I'm sorry but I'm not a cat and don't have 8 extra lives to dedicate to nonsense.
Since I hate wasting my credits I know I will try again (someday) to re-listen to the book.but I'm going to have be really desperate.

Revisado: 12-22-12
Would you try another book from Richard Paul Evans and/or Fred Berman?
Possibly.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
No, the ending seemed inline with the genre.
What does Fred Berman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I personally think the performance helped the book. I am not sure I would have even bought the book had I cracked it open and read it.
Any additional comments?
I listen to so many books it become harder and harder to find something that I either haven't listened to or wished I hadn't purchased. The book was a simple listen, xmen and comic book genre. I personally am not that into these kinds of stories (generally) but I like supernatural books so I ended up purchasing it. It was a good bedtime fall asleep book :) nothing too awesome but nothing too terrible either. I think it would appeal to folks who like super hero stuff.

Finally!!
Revisado: 11-15-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Immortal Rules to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print book, but I believe the audio version would be better. The acting and talent of the narrator (to me) made listening to the story so enjoyable! I can't imagine - just reading the book. I think I would get confused with all the different characters.
What did you like best about this story?
Original. Numerous characters who each could have their own back story. Dystopian + Vampire - two topics that were well mixed and creatively written. Story drew me in. There was a real story. There was balance between the scenery, the characters, the inner and external happiness and conflict of the people in the book. Not focused on erotica as many of the existing vampire series have - which are there own sub genre..but my intellect starves after a while w/ those books
What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?
I've been an audiophile practically my whole life. So I have listened to a lot of narrators. Therese Plummer was outstanding. Simply put, her ability to act out ~20 different characters (and do it WELL) made this book fantastic.ADVISE FOR WRITER: DO WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO TO ENSURE THIS PERSON READS YOUR SERIES!!!
