Historia
Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of raging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box. A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter. At the same time, Dallas Cates, whom Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.

Historia
My little girl’s room is dark. Her bed is empty. I turn on her unicorn nightlight and bury my face in her pillow, my heart breaking. I know who did this. His name is Samuel Barlow. He has pale sallow skin and red-rimmed icy-blue eyes. But no one will listen. As darkness falls and rain lashes against the window, there’s a knock at my door and I open it to see those same eyes staring back at me. It’s his mother and she says she can help me find my daughter.

Twist and turns in a Maine town
Revisado: 01-29-25
I enjoyed the story. The pace was nice, characters engaging and an absence of four letter words and extra violence ) despite a number of mutders).
Plenty of plot changes and historical information as well as “current day” times.
Worth reading and hope more will happen in this fictional community for us to read!

Another great Anna pigeon Adventure from Nevada Barr.
Revisado: 12-03-24
This episode in the Ranger Anna Pigeon story takes place at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Great use of this unusual national park and the various complications that the years have taken.
Anna is not officially working at the National park just staying with. Busy while attending to her very sick sister. But as usual Anna gets involved solving a series of murders and mugging.
Good story and great use of the history as well as sentiments around the Statue of Liberty.

Enjoyed this episode of the Joe Pickens series by CJ Box. Good characters and action (as expected) storylines are always interesting and descriptive info about western states (mostly Wyoming) are quite accurate.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

I enjoyed this book. The characters and subject matter read well done. Having been to the Big Island and having seen Mona Loa I could appreciate the details about the volcanic past.
I think this was a good collaboration from the two authors.

Interesting characters and their connections. First part of book’s excitement does nothing to compare with actual purpose of the book and its operators. Makes one think about right and wrong and following orders vs. patriotism and love of family.
