Who better to battle evil than masters of horror.

I love a good haunted house story and this one did not disappoint!
It was creepy, fast paced and kept me wondering what lurked around the next corner.
Narration was solid and sent chills up my spine on a few occasions.

Such an accurate representation of what online fandoms devolve into. Obviously Rowling is very familiar with the negative impact a creator has to deal with in the online sphere that can sometimes cross the line into the irl world. If you want to know more about her own experience with a certain toxic fandom listen to The Witch Trials of JK Rowling podcast.
Rowling does a fantastic job yet again in getting us hooked on the case and of course hoping that Robin or Strike will just get sloppy drunk together.
The online chat room and Twitter chats can get a little disorienting especially if you listen at a fast speed but imo it doesn’t take away from the story and the narrator reads them perfectly. At times I did wish I had a physical copy in front of me though. Overall I loved this installment in the Strike and Ellacott story.

Historia
When Robin Ellacott opens an unexpected delivery, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but just as alarmed. He suspects that four people from his past could be responsible - and any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality. With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike has essentially ruled out, he and Robin take matters into their own hands and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men.

Along with his wife and teenage daughter, the family uproots their lives in Ohio and moves south. They are initially seduced by the natural beauty of the country setting. That soon changes when they discover a hidden room in the basement with a well, boarded shut and adorned with crucifixes. Creepy addition to the genre.
Revisado: 09-05-22
When buying a new home you often find yourself wondering if any previous occupants had died where you now lay your
head at night but have you ever wondered what else the
previous owners got into. After all most states don't have to
disclose if there was a death in the house let alone tell you
there was an exorcist and those he failed to vanquish who
may or may not be haunting your new pad.
This fast pace horror follows the Hill family as they make a
fresh start in a rural farmhouse in West Virginia. Unfortunately for the Hill's their new home comes with a menacing occupant waiting to wreak havoc on its new inhabitants.
Fans of haunted house or exorcism stories shouldn't miss this one!
Nick Roberts delivers a creepy but fun story with
references to past favorites in the genre. The narrator adds the perfect voice to this harrowing tale. Listen at night at your own risk! I look forward to reading more from this author!
