Historia
Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey's favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who's skipped bail. With the help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman.

Glad to see the 4th book unabridged, but...
Revisado: 10-09-09
I am a huge fan of Janet Evanovich, especially loving the Plum series, and although I like to actually read a book, my vision (or lack thereof) has made me rely on audio books. I have been having a difficult time finding the first six in the Plum series in an UNABRIDGED format, because as far as I am concerned, abridgment should be outlawed. Really, why not offer the Author the respect of reading every word written? This is not Audible's fault, they can only offer what is there to offer and when an unabridged version of audio becomes available Audible is very good at making sure we have access to it. So, when I found that they were offering the 4th book in the Plum series in an unabridged format I was so excited I bought and downloaded immediately.
I have become accustomed (even spoiled) to the EXCELLENT reading of Lorelei King and was dismayed with the HORRIBLE reading of CJ Critt, which unfortunately dropped a book that would have received at least a 4 star rating down to 2 stars.
Nothing against Audible or against Janet for the words she wrote. In this case, the lack of a good review falls solely on Critt!
CJ Critt is a very good reader for a very specific type of genre; comedy is not one of her gifts. The timing is off, and it just takes the life out of what would have been enjoyable. I have enjoyed the Patricia Cornwell audio books that she has read, but the style of which Janet writes requires far more versatility than Critt can give.
My Audio Book Wish: Get the whole Plum Series Unabridged and read by Lorelei King!!!

Historia
Known by his alias, "Oliver Stone," John Carr is the most wanted man in America. With two pulls of the trigger, the men who destroyed Stone's life and kept him in the shadows were finally silenced. But his freedom comes at a steep price: The assassinations he carried out prompt the highest levels of the U.S. government to unleash a massive manhunt. Behind the scenes, master spy Macklin Hayes is playing a very personal game of cat and mouse. He, more than anyone, wants Stone dead.

Great Story Teller
Revisado: 11-14-08
The Camel Club is my favorite group of characters created by Baldacci, and sometimes these novels start out slow but pick up steam later in the book. This time, however, it started out in the midst of action and continues the whole way through. This is the best one yet. His creation of very diverse and interesting characters and with his ability to tell a very good story, prompts me to give this one a 5 star rating. I highly recommend downloading and listening to this one!

A good listen
Revisado: 08-08-08
This is a very long book, but the fact that it was a good one, it being long was a bonus. The characters are interesting and diverse, but not as interesting as those found in Odd Thomas or Christopher Snow and his pals. This is worth a listen.

A Very Good Listen
Revisado: 02-04-08
I got this one and finished it in one day simply because I couldn't seem to stop. It was written in such a way where I was pulled in and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next and how it was all going to unfold and connect. Koontz did a nice job with character development, and this one wasn't too freaky for him. Although it does have some concepts a bit "Out of the Box" but nothing too intense. I recommend this one!

Abridged must to be eradicated from Earth!
Revisado: 08-30-06
Because I was in a hurry, I ordered this abridged novel by accident (stupid). If this were unabridged, it would be excellent, however, I find it distasteful that a book which would run several more hours has been boiled down to a little over two. The memory of Ludlum deserves so much more than that. It’s time the publishers stop treating those of us who listen like we are idiots, and start recording ALL the words the Author intended!

She just doesn't disappoint
Revisado: 08-26-06
This series is perfect if you just want to have an enjoyable listen. Great Character development, you feel like you know these people. There really isn't a plot, because there isn't suppose to be one. That is not her intention, her intention is to create a series that is fun and enjoyable. For this I, for one am very grateful. I can use this kind of writing from time to time. Thank you Janet!

Historia
Stephanie Plum is thinking her career as a fugitive apprehension agent has run its course. She's been shot at, spat at, cussed at, fire-bombed, mooned, and attacked by dogs. Time for a change, Stephanie thinks. Time to find the kind of job her mother can tell her friends about without making the sign of the cross. So Stephanie Plum quits. Resigns. No looking back. No changing her mind. She wants something safe and normal. As it turns out, jobs that are safe and normal for most people aren't necessarily safe and normal for Stephanie Plum.

Alexandra Barnaby got the brains in her family. The little gray cells certainly bypassed Barney’s younger brother, Wild Bill. Truth is, Alex has been bailing her brother out of trouble since they were kids. Not that Bill's a bad sort. More that he acts first and thinks later. Unfortunately, this time around, Wild Bill will be Dead Bill if Alex doesn't find him in time.

Good, but....
Revisado: 11-26-05
This book is a funny read, but not a great listen -- don't bother as long as C.J. Critt is reading it. Critt does a really great job with with Dramas -- she brings the work of Patricia Cornwell alive, but she just doesn't have what it takes to read a comedy/adventure novel like those found in Janet Evanovich books. I was excited to see that Evanovich came up with the book, a possible change from the Plum books, but found myself saying over and over, "Why, why didn't she have Lorelei King read it as she does with most of the Plum books?" Evanovich's work on this one is deleted by the reading -- ONLY USE KING!!!
