Historia
In the turbulent summer of 1974, Kate Mularkey has accepted her place at the bottom of the eighth-grade social food chain. Then, to her amazement, the "coolest girl in the world" moves in across the street and wants to be her friend. Tully Hart seems to have it all - beauty, brains, ambition. On the surface they are as opposite as two people can be: Kate, doomed to be forever uncool, with a loving family who mortifies her at every turn.

A little Lifetime Movie-ish

Performance and story is a little on the cheesy side.

Male Ally McBeal wannabe
Revisado: 08-28-16
I tried. I really did. It had all the makings of silly comedic joy. And I enjoy quirky characters who insert crazy little fantasies into their real life a la the Ally McBeal, Scrubs, and Limitless tv shows...shows that I love, btw. This felt like a book version of these characters, and I was excited to read it.....buuuut.....
But the fantasies came too fast, too often, without giving the reader time to connect with the main character. Gave me the feeling that I could care less what happened to him. Too many relationships were introduced too quickly and soo much unsubstantiated self inflicted chaos surrounded Jonathan that had no rhyme or reason...I just had to give up.
But the narration was top notch.

Historia
Since she was just a little girl, Jessie Stone has dreamed up hundreds of marriage proposals and fantasized about wedding dresses and falling in love. She’s been a bridesmaid nearly a dozen times, waved numerous couples off to sunny honey-moons, and shopped in more department stores for half-price fondue pots than she cares to remember. But shopping for one key component in her own happily ever after hasn’t been as productive–a future husband. The man she thought she would marry cheated on her. The crush she has on her best friend Blake is at very best…well, crushing.

Great message wrapped in an entertaining story
Revisado: 07-18-16
I very much enjoyed the story. The main character was perfectly imperfect. The narrator's voice, however, did not match. Jesse's age needed the voice of a mature woman but this narrator sounded as if she was reading the top story of the evening news. A little too canned. However, the story took over and I was able to overlook it. I enjoyed the fun fiction with a "holy" twist. I categorize it as "Devine Comedy" ;)

Historia
Would you live your life differently if you were given a second chance? Hannah, David, Connie, and Linda - four terminally ill patients - have been selected for the SUBlife pilot program, which will grant them brand-new, genetically perfect bodies that are exact copies of their former selves - without a single imperfection. Blemishes, scars, freckles, and wrinkles have all disappeared; their fingerprints are different; their vision is impeccable; and, most importantly, their illnesses have been cured.

Having chronic illness, I was so intrigued. But...
Revisado: 01-16-16
I got a little more than half way through and realized I disliked every single one of the main characters...and their partners. So I stopped listening. Such a shame. I was so hopeful for this story, and intrigued by its premise. Every one has someone they know and/ or love who is stuck inside a body that doesn't represent who they really want to be because of an illness or disability. This story could have been something that represents people who have a fantasy that a sick body can be made whole again while alive on earth. I liked that the characters were completely imperfect. I also found it interesting that each character needed to go through child like emotions again. Unfortunately, the focus on the negative and selfish thoughts ( not to mention how off putting the many multiple uses of the "F-word" was) left me feeling sad and a little sickened by it.
