Historia
When a body is discovered at a popular Highland landmark, it seems like just another day on the job for DCI Jack Logan and his team. Except this body is missing a very vital component, and given its location - The Well of Seven Heads - it seems like someone is trying to send a message. But why? And to whom?

Meh, weak story
Revisado: 12-04-24
This was my least favorite book so far of this series. The story is preposterous. In a small town, no one recognized each other?! Theres too much pointless filler as well.

Entertaining, but Rhode Island accent WAY off
Revisado: 04-06-24
The second audiobook of this series was entertaining though not as entertaining as the first one. The Rhode Island accent was so off! People from RI do not sound like they are from New Jersey or Long Island.

Historia
The Chicago PD is on high alert when two city aldermen are found dead: one by apparent suicide, one brutally stabbed in his office, and both with thirty dimes left on their bodies—a betrayer’s payment. With no other clues, the question is, Who else has a debt to pay? Detective Harriet Foster is on the case before the killer can strike again. But even with the help of her partner, Detective Vera Li, and the rest of their team, Harriet has little to go on and a lot at risk. There’s no telling who the killer’s next target is or how many will come next.

Ugh so tedious and boring
Revisado: 02-28-24
I couldn’t get into this. So many pointless details and no action. The actual murder plot crawled along at an injured snail’s pace.

Bunny McGarry has finally got a lead in his mission to find the Sisters of the Saint, but the lead, one Father Gabriel de Marcos, isn’t willing to play ball. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Bunny has to put the padre under surveillance with a little help from some old friends. Father Gabriel runs a boxing club at the bad end of the Bronx, battling to keep kids out of gangs - noble, thankless work. Thing is, saints don’t typically have assassins sent after them. What sins are hidden in the padre’s mysterious past?

The narration ruined this
Revisado: 12-25-23
I love this author, but good gravy, who OKed the narration of this book? The accent the narrator used for the Latinx characters was so over the top I couldn’t listen to it. The accent used for the character of Rosario was awful. It was like listening to a racist 90s comic do an Latinx accent!

Historia
Masterfully blending elements of psychological suspense and true crime, Jessica Knoll—bestselling author of Luckiest Girl Alive and the writer behind the Netflix adaptation starring Mila Kunis—delivers an “unflinching and evocative” (Laura Dave, New York Times bestselling author) thriller in Bright Young Women. The book opens on a Saturday night in 1978, hours before a soon-to-be-infamous murderer descends upon a Florida sorority house with deadly results. The lives of those who survive, including a sorority president and key witness, Pamela Schumacher, are forever changed.

I have no idea why this has so many 5 star reviews
Revisado: 11-06-23
Like someone else said, THIS IS NOT A THRILLER. There is no suspense or mystery or twists. It’s so boring and drags on and on and includes details that have nothing to do with the story. I kept waiting for something to happen but nothing happens! All the switching between timelines and people is confusing. I didn’t mind the narration.

Historia
Fresh out of rehab, Mallory Quinn takes a job as a babysitter for Ted and Caroline Maxwell. She is to look after their five-year-old son, Teddy. Mallory immediately loves it. She has her own living space, goes out for nightly runs, and has the stability she craves. And she sincerely bonds with Teddy, a sweet, shy boy who is never without his sketchbook and pencil. His drawings are the usual fare: trees, rabbits, balloons. But one day, he draws something different: a man in a forest, dragging a woman’s lifeless body.

Super cliche, stupid female protagonist, weirdly religious
Revisado: 10-31-23
Do not waste your credit on this!! This book had EVERY SINGLE CLICHE you could imagine. Kid who saw dead people and drew them, an idiot female protagonist, the “perfect family” that really wasn’t. It also contained weird religious overtones sprinkled with fatphobia. I hate that I wasted a credit on this land fill!

Historia
When she was sixteen years old, Angela Wong—one of the most popular girls in school—disappeared without a trace. Nobody ever suspected that her best friend, Georgina Shaw, now an executive and rising star at her Seattle pharmaceutical company, was involved in any way. Certainly not Kaiser Brody, who was close with both girls back in high school.

Predictable, repetitive, stupid protagonist
Revisado: 09-07-23
There is no pay off at the end because this book was so stupid and boring. It was completely predictable and the story dragged on and on because the author kept rehashing the same events over and over again. Also, it’s one of those books where the main character is suppose to be a smart woman but she does insanely stupid stuff throughout the book.

My face hurts from rolling my eyes
Revisado: 07-16-23
If you you want to listen to a older man’s incredibly dated views and inner dialogue about women and what makes them ethical then you might enjoy this book. The main character brings up his dead wife way too much. This book drones on and on about nothing particular to the plot. I truly disliked this book, I’m glad it was free.
