What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A better written book. I'm returning because I lost interest in the writing.

Would you ever listen to anything by Mary Calmes again?

Probably. She's a guilty pleasure re: books, but even more hit or miss with audiobooks.

What does Tristan James bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice is lovely.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not so much, no...

What made the experience of listening to Bear, Otter, and the Kid the most enjoyable?

The narrator was exceptional. I could tell he really got what TJ Klune was trying to do, all the inner dialogue, all of Bear's complexities were really brought to life by him.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bear, Otter, and the Kid?

When the world comes crashing down around Bear's ears and he escapes to the beach and Otter leaves his heartbreaking voicemails. Ack! The narrator did that so well.

What about Sean Crisden’s performance did you like?

I already said, but it seems to me that he really tapped into Bear's character. Be warned though, the second book in the series 'Who We Are' is narrated by one of the worst narrators I've ever encountered on audible. I really wish it could be done over by Sean Crisden.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Rollercoaster of Angsty Goodness. Lol

Would you try another book from Mary Calmes and/or Michael Anthony?

Mary Calmes is a guilty pleasure read. You know there's not much substance there, but you read it for the fun of it. The narrator was boring and should never try a Russian accent ever, ever again.

Has Floodgates turned you off from other books in this genre?

Nope.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Michael Anthony?

Not likely. There was not enough energy in his acting.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Erm. Cord was hot?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. I enjoyed listening to this one. The narrator was really great. His voice was sexy.

What could K. C. Burn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It was a little shallow. But I guess this is really typical of the genre. I guess I was looking for more because the characters were really interesting. Well, Rick was.

Which scene was your favorite?

Eh, I guess when Rick opened up for the first time.

Did Cast Off inspire you to do anything?

Not really? What?
