I loved the book. I genuinely enjoyed it. Whomever does the voice of Mariah….i struggled to get through those chapters. The exaggerated southern drawl was not on inaccurate but made me think of the most annoying old western possible. It took away so much for me. I went from focused and indulged to just, annoyed and wanting it to be over. This same voice made me hate Mikael and he’s one of my favorite characters. Again, the book is amazing. I will just read it moving forward.

Any book this author writes, I must read. This book was so fun. I love the spice, the descriptions of each character, the creativity, and the overall story.

I felt like I was rereading the same chapter over and over. It was a constant repeat of the main caroling sorry for herself and internal conversations about her siblings. When another character asks a question we have to read/listen to this long internal conversation (AGAIN). It’s always the same…always.

I usually enjoy her books, but this one felt like she had to write a research paper and ran out of ideas. One character would describe a moment, and then the next character’s point of view would describe that exact moment in the exact same way. It continued like this, and after a while, I found myself having to force myself to finish reading it.

I only finished because I am already so far in the series. Feyre and Rhys are so full of themselves. Feyre has become unfair in so much judgement. Her sisters can question others, be rude to others, verbally abuse others but the moment someone responds to them with the same energy, she threatens to “reprimand” them. What am I listening to right now? Elaine isn’t some sweet innocent character but better yet emotionally manipulative. Nesta is horrible to everyone. Feyre is a diva all of a sudden. They are still obsessed with breaking Tamlin even further for being a jerk but they are just as bad as he is….yet they continue to live perfect delusional lives. I’m just over it. They (the sisters ) seem to be more of the villains.

I was a little disappointed in the main character, Millie. She didn’t grow as a person since book 1. She is still all talk, she still allows people to step all over her, she’s still trying to please EVERYONE she meets, and she’s still naive. Her lack of faith in family was a little much. I enjoyed learning about her family and new characters.
