Historia
Whether taken as a book of faith or a cultural artifact, the New Testament is among the most significant writings the world has ever known, its web of meaning relied upon by virtually every major writer in the last 2,000 years. Yet the New Testament is not only one of Western civilization’s most believed books, but also one of its most widely disputed, often maligned, and least clearly understood, with a vast number of people unaware of how it was written and transmitted.

Bart Ehrman is fantastic
Revisado: 02-08-23
This book is really so excellent….. cannot recommend it strongly enough….. especially to practicing Christians. Find out what is really in the Bible….. and what really isn’t….. and why. And furthermore…… Bart Ehrman’s review of the New Trstament books, individually, is the view held by the majority of Biblical historians.

Most Annoying!
Revisado: 02-01-23
I found this book most annoying. And the delivery in particular. It is read by the author.
In addition to discovering diverse things about personality…. You will discover :
/More than you ever wanted to know about Beyoncé…. Including that apparently she is the greatest entertainer throughout the entire history of mankind.
- More than you would ever want to know about her relationship with her daughter
-The entire dating history that occurred between her and her boyfriend….. whom she ultimately married( also a neurobiologist)
I suppose that there was some validity to content, but I almost had to grit my teeth to bear.the presentation which…. In my mind…… seems to be written by a “twenty something”…. for other “Twenty somethings”
I don’t necessarily expect a formal sort of presentation about everything in neurobiology…… and I listen to a lot of neurobiology. But this book was beyond the pale.

Excellent course
Revisado: 01-24-23
I was thinking this course might be from a more neurobiological perspective. It is about a psychological perspective…… which is actually excellent. Highly recommended. Great professor.

Historia
An almost limitless archive of our history lies hidden inside our bodies, and this book traces the ancient story of Scotland from that scientific viewpoint. The mushrooming of genetic studies, of DNA analysis, is rewriting history in spectacular fashion. In Scotland: A Genetic Journey, Alistair Moffat explores the history that is printed on our genes, and in a remarkable new approach, uncovers the detail of where Scots are from, where they have journeyed, and who they are - and in so doing, vividly colors in a DNA map of Scotland.

Scottish genetics
Revisado: 01-10-23
Very good short history of Scottish genetics. There is some discussion of haplogroups but there is more about genetics in the medieval period than ancient periods…. But still a great resource.

Historia
Vital research is starting to challenge long-standing assumptions about gender identity and biological sex, such as work that indicates the brain is a “mosaic” of traits rather than a “male” and “female” brain. Growing knowledge of the genetic complexities of sexual determination is changing the way the medical community treats intersex individuals, and in this audiobook, The New Science of Sex and Gender, we not only examine the latest studies in biology, medicine, and psychology but also, more importantly, their bearing on healthcare, identity, and access.

Historia
Language defines us as a species, placing humans head and shoulders above even the most proficient animal communicators. But it also beguiles us with its endless mysteries, allowing us to ponder why different languages emerged, why there isn't simply a single language, how languages change over time and whether that's good or bad, and how languages die out and become extinct.

John McWhorter is one of the best professor lecturers I have heard. I listen to many Great Courses classes and he ranks as one of the best! I highly recommend this course if you are interested in language and how languages evolve.
