Historia
Jack Reacher wakes up alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a makeshift bed. His right arm has suffered some major damage. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there. The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed. His captors assume Reacher was the driver’s accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk. A plan that will backfire spectacularly . . .

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-05-24
I was so happy when I learned Andrew Child was continuing the Lee Child legacy. However, this book is very disappointing. It doesn't have the usual Reacher humor. It also has weird changes in the plot. I got to chapter 25 and thought where did the tennis club guys come from and what were they doing in this story? It is easy to get lost and I had to rewind and play some portions twice. Some chapters just don't flow together.
Sadly, this may be my last Reacher book.

Historia
US intelligence is reporting turmoil in the Russian navy. Their deadliest submarine, the Belgorod, has unexpectedly launched, and taken along with it a long list of questions. Who authorized the departure? What mission is it on? And, most disturbing of all, what weapons do the giant doors on the sub’s bow hide? It's been four decades since a similar incident with the Soviet sub, Red October, ended happily, thanks to a young CIA analyst named Jack Ryan.

Disappointing- I almost asked for a refund
Revisado: 08-27-24
This is one of the few disappointing Clancy novels. The idea of Jack's daughter following in his footsteps is great but the execution is poor. There are just so many totally unbelievable sequences. Like why is Katy even on the USS Gerald Ford much less the submarine! More than once I stopped listening to it and was on the edge of asking for a refund.

Great book. Great narration. Great story.
Revisado: 07-05-24
Another great book in the Peter Ash saga. This may be the best one yet. I loved all the information on Iceland. Stephen Mendel does such a good job on the Icelandic voice accents. I highly recommend this book if you love action series like Jack Reacher.

Historia
For a moment Wilson froze and looked at the white-helmeted pilot who sat high on the nose of the colossal fighter. Across the small void, he saw the pilot's eyes peer over his mask. Dark, chilling eyes. Wilson kicked right rudder to slide closer and jam any chance for a bandit gunshot. When the bandit pulled all the way over, almost on its back but in control, he cursed in frustration at what he knew was coming next.

This story has potential
Revisado: 05-17-24
I'm a big fan of Nelson DeMille's work and this story has great potential. However, it gets bogged down in minutia and rambles on and on in philosophical discussions. At points, it's great then another LONG philosophical discussion takes over and you are left with pointless rambling for what seems like hours. I thought it would never end.

Historia
War veteran Peter Ash sought peace and quiet among the towering redwoods of Northern California, but the trip isn't quite the balm he'd hoped for. The dense forest and close fog cause his claustrophobia to buzz and spark, and then he stumbles upon a grizzly long thought to have vanished from this part of the country. In a fight of man against bear, Peter doesn't favor his odds, so he makes a strategic retreat up a nearby sapling. There he finds something strange: a climbing rope affixed to a distant branch above.

1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Disapointing
Revisado: 11-28-23
I've read all the Reacher series books and ordered this one as soon as it was announced. After waiting most of the year for it to debut, I couldn't wait to read it. A good Reacher book is so good you don't want to put it down. You just can't wait to get to the next chapter. However, this book was easy to set down and not read for a while. It just doesn't have the same magic as the Lee Child books.
I'm rooting for Andrew and that he'll find that same magic his brother has/had.
If you're just bored and need a book to spend time with, then this one may do.
