Historia
"Reduce, reuse, recycle," urge environmentalists. In other words, do more with less in order to minimize damage. William McDonough and Michael Braungart argue in this provocative book that this approach perpetuates a one-way, "cradle to grave" manufacturing model that dates back to the Industrial Revolution, a model that casts off as much as 90 percent of the materials it uses as waste, much of it toxic. They challenge the notion that human industry must inevitably damage the natural world.

A Manifesto for sustainable design.
Revisado: 04-02-25
I wish I came across this book much sooner. He had so much good information about how businesses can make products that don't degrade the environment. Waste equals food. The authors distinguish between biological nutrients and technical nutrients that all products should turn into at the end of their lives.

Paradigm Shift
Revisado: 03-26-24
Gabe Brown talks about his journey from taking a conventional farm to a regenerative one, and discusses how profitability improves as well. It's a wonderful concept and very inspiring. It's a positive environmental change from a capitalist perspective, which is what we need.

Historia
There are redwoods in California that were ancient by the time Columbus first landed and pines still alive that germinated around the time humans invented writing. There are Douglas firs as tall as skyscrapers and a banyan tree in Calcutta as big as a football field. From the tallest to the smallest, trees inspire wonder in all of us, and in The Tree, Colin Tudge travels around the world - throughout the United States, the Costa Rican rain forest, Panama and Brazil, India, New Zealand, China, and most of Europe - bringing to life stories and facts about the trees around us.

Great information, a bit long
Revisado: 03-20-24
There's great information in here, but a lot of which is not necessary or great in audiobook format. There is a lot in the middle about taxonomy, which is hard to follow via audio, and a simple graphic or two would convey the information in a fraction of the time.

Classical physics is about how things move, why they move, and how they work. It's about making sense of motion, gravity, light, heat, sound, electricity, and magnetism, and seeing how these phenomena interweave to create the rich tapestry of everyday experience. It is, in short, the hidden order of the universe.
