Historia
The world is more mysterious than most people are comfortable imagining. We cross paths with the mystical from time to time and may not even notice it. If we do, we quickly return to our usually mundane daily existence. But what if we not only acknowledged the unknown, we investigated it and spoke with those in the know? That's what co-hosts Scott Philbrook & Forrest Burgess, and co-executive producer Tess Pfeifle do at Astonishing Legends. Over 100 million downloads and hundreds of thousands of listeners have discovered the thrill of exploring the mysteries of our world, showing that the ...

Entertaining and Informative
Revisado: 12-09-21
I really enjoy the stories covered on this podcast. I’ve not only been entertained but learned much I didn’t know before. Topics are certainly creepy and intriguing but I love that they cover the historical side of things and theories as well. My favorite podcast of all time!

Narrator speaks in clusters
Revisado: 03-25-21
The narrator takes a lot of unnecessary pauses in random places. It’s a little distracting. I love learning about the dig sites for ancient Mesopotamia but so far I feel like I’m learning a lot about dig sites and less about what we actually know about them. Only about 2 hours in so far so will hope for the best for the remainder of the lectures.

Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, one of the few capable of hunting the monsters that prey on humanity. He uses magical signs, potions, and the pride of every Witcher—two swords, steel and silver. But a contract has gone wrong, and Geralt finds himself without his signature weapons. Now he needs them back, because sorcerers are scheming, and across the world clouds are gathering. The season of storms is coming. . .

Good story. Amazing acting!
Revisado: 03-18-19
This is the third book from The Witcher universe I’ve read so far. Overall I found that the lore in the books great however, I do feel that the author sometimes goes down the cute, somewhat nostalgic road. In all his stories he seems to weave in something concerning a story we grew up watching or listening to, particularly Disney princesses. He does put his own spin on the stories and their mentions are fleeting compared to the length of the book. Yet I find the inclusion of these stories unnecessary and I feel that they serve only as a detriment to the overall story. I would not consider the stories to be particularly well written but they are enjoyable to hear and the universe the author created is easy to get lost in, particularly if you’re a fan of the game adaptation of these book.
The voice actor is among the best voice actors I have ever heard on audible. Like many of the other voice actors you hear on audible, his voice changes with every character he personifies and he does a great job of making each one feel unique. He really puts effort into acting out the different scenes in a believable fashion. Was not crazy about him when he voiced The Last Wish because he got some of the pronunciation for some of the characters incorrect and his acting, although good, I did not consider great at the time. But by this story Peter Kenny had surpassed my expectations! Excellent work!

My favorite Warcraft book.
Revisado: 01-06-19
Somehow, I wasn’t excited about the prospect of reading this book as it seemed the majority would be told through the eyes of dragons/proto-dragons. It turned out to be my favorite of all Warcraft books. Scott brick is also my favorite performer so far. Great read! And if you play World of Warcraft it’s kind of nice to be able to go back and see some of the places talked about in the story with new understanding. Would highly recommend!

Historia
Though the young Warchief Thrall ended the demon curse that had plagued his people for generations, the orcs still wrestle with the sins of their bloody past. As the rampaging Horde, they waged a number of devastating wars against their perennial enemy - the Alliance. Yet the rage and bloodlust that drove the orcs to destroy everything in their path nearly consumed them as well. Long ago, on the idyllic world of Draenor, the noble orc clans lived in relative peace with their enigmatic neighbors, the draenei.

Although she is the author, I’m not as crazy about her performance. Would have preferred Scott Brick. Still overall it was a decent performance and a good book.

Although made for young readers was still a good read
Revisado: 01-06-19
I’ve read all the Warcraft books and left this one last because I was looking forward to it the least. However, I ended up quite enjoying the book and performance was great. Next book in the series was equally satisfying.
