One of the Best

I have had this in my Audible library for a while - to be honest I’m not crazy about single dad romances but I bought this because I really like Vi Keeland. Anyway this turned out to be of the best romance novels I have listened to in a long while. Vi Keeland with Penelope award can sometimes get a little too angsty but this book was just perfect. Loved it!!!!

Kendall is not a good person

I couldn’t finish this one. Kendall was not a good person and quite frankly she was a terrible boss. I kept waiting for Hunter to quit and sue because of the work environment she created. Seriously- a gift a ball gag? Letting the air out of his tires? Etc etc.

Not what I expected

Having read/listened to other Robyn Carr books, I expected this to be like those. This book is classified as romance but June Hudson's romance with the DEA agent was a small side arc to the overall story and quite frankly was a disappointment - not only was it treated like a small sub plot, the whole romance felt very shallow and rushed and really like June was settling for less than she deserved. The book wasn't bad but it was more fiction about small town growing pains than a romance novel. If I had expected that, I wouldn't be so disappointed now.

One of my all time faves

I don't understand how this book onlybhas 4.4 stars. I listened to it when it had the single narrator for both POV and I thought she did a great job. But the story itself just hit me in all the feels. There is definitely some angst but not too much and you end the book so happy that these two flawed people found each other and were able to heal each other. As my title states, this book is one of my all time favorites. The other books in the series are good, but not outstanding like this one.

great concept, not the best execution

I loved the concept of this book, but that being said, very little diving in was done of the female or male characters' background issues. I am not a fan of super angsty books but both characters carry significant baggage and it was glossed over. The female H got upset with the male H, and while I understand not being happy, she took it to an extreme... almost to the point that it was a good setup for him to meet someone who loved and understands him. Anyway, this concept of "girl overshadowed by supermodel sister" gets with "MMA fighter from wrong side of the tracks and sucky family" could've been executed better.

high expectations

I have loved this series by Suzanne Wright and was eagerly awaiting Dominic's book. He appeared in all the prior books and I was just expecting a really EPIC book for him. This book was good, but it didn't really live up to what I had hyped it to be in my mind. Some of the books in this series I have listened to multiple times - (very unusual for me) but I probably won't re-listen to this one. That being said, I hope Suzanne Wright continues writing shifter books even if not in the Phoenix/Mercury pack series. Something on the Wolverine pack or more on the Palace Cats would be good. I'll keep eagerly reading/listening to all Suzanne Wright's books as they are released!
Also, love Jill Redfield as the narrator of these books.

Can't wait for this author's next book!

I normally don't write reviews for books I listen to on audible, just do the stars, but I loved this book! I loved the characters. This is a steamy book but I didn't think the sex scenes were overdone or took over the plot, or that it was one of those books that are mainly sex scenes with a thinly knit plot to make them a book. There was some angst, but not toi much and the characters had their happy ending. If you are looking for a light, feel good romance to brighten your day, and like some good hot scenes mixed in, this is the book for you!
