The life of McRaven and his service to our country is so impressive that if not for the news papers headlines, you would not believe it. I got hooked and could not stop until finished.
It gives you a back scene account of events that have shaped our life’s for the past 20 years.

I first saw Nikki in a speech at the UN and was super impressed. Listening at her in this book she didn’t disappoint. A great American, she represent everything our nation stands for. Thanks for your great service.

Outstanding words by an outstanding Queen

I remember watching Queen Noor in Larry King’s Live and admiring her commitment to the Jordanian people. She always defended and promoted the Arab culture and women rights throughout the Middle East. However, her detail account of events that took place from the 60’s all the way to 1999, opened my eyes to events and points of views taking place in the Middle East today.
Her external beauty pales in comparison with her inner beauty. Her devotion to her husband and his children is something the captivates from the beginning of her journey to the final chapters of King Hussein’s life.

A great hero and American

I knew of Tommy Franks a General responsible for the quick removal of the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein in Irak, but had no idea the outstanding leader he is. The book was an eye opener regarding the strategy and cleverness of his team and even Donald Rumsfeld during the beginning of the Irak war. General Franks does a great account of the events that led to the invasion and defeat of Saddam’s forces.

An outstanding American

I didn’t know much of Kamala, other than what I see in the depositions in congressional hearings. This book helped me see the incredible human she is. Her dedication to fight for the weak and in need is something to admire. Excellent reading.

No what I was expecting

Although I agree with the author in his religious believes, I totally disagree with his approach.
I was expecting an empirical way to prove a point, instead I found arguments based on opinions and not empirical data. I believe Hawkins was a great scientist, but his arguments do not proof or denied the existence of God.
The author used philosophical mumbo jumbo as proof of his argument, but the mumbo jumbo has no real empirical substance. I was expecting more correlation with the Higgs boson concept, the it completely missed the mark.

Great story by a great American.

John Kerry is an example to us all. He, like John McCain, share the passion for a better world and expresses it clearly in the story described in this book. We need more Kerry’s in this world.

A great historical account of the father of our nation

Although is a long book, is by far the best biographical account of our nations father, General and President George Washington. I particularly love the way the I author interlace the historical event with letters and/or correspondence from Washington or acquaintances of him describing the mood or intention of the moment.
This book also gave me a clear understanding regarding the processes and protocols followed today by congress and the President of the United State. After reading the book I understood the words like “the experiment” when describing our way of governance.
Today, is common and most countries try to imitate the US democratic process, but when George Washington and the federalist started, that was not the case. This book shows a very different George Washington with feelings, concerns, and doubts, making him a human with a great idea and awesome spirit for the good of our country.
This is a must read biography.

Outstanding reading and leadership material

Initially, I have red that Carey Lohrenz was referenced while researching about Kara Hultsgreen’s accident. I had read Scott Kelly’s book and was curious as to find more information on the accident, since he says he had reported the problem a year early and nothing had been done of that regard.
Not only did Carey clarified the stall engine problem with the F-14, but it also gave me so much more.

I had been a manager, and at one point a Director of Engineering, for more than 17 years. At the end I became so frustrated with managing that went back to become sole contributor. I highly recommend this book to anyone aspiring to become a leader of any organization.

A great book by a great hero.

I found myself struggling with the GOP, though I call myself Republican. After reading this book, I realized what was buttering me. I am a Reagan republican, I believe in a strong defense, a free and open markets, and a small government. McCain enters in this topic, discuss in detail the issue with Russia, the Middle East, and the Soviet block countries.
This man was there and met many of the leaders and personalities the have and are shaping the world as we know it today.
It was a great story described by an American Hero. I am glad to have read John McCain’s story, it opened my eyes. Thank you for your service to this great nation John McCain.
