I wanted to like it, but couldn't finish it.
Revisado: 03-13-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Not sure, but certainly wasn't for me
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing else in this series
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator was ok, it was the storyline I did not like.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The idea that a cop and gangster might have a relationship could have been a good plot line, unfortunately it didn't pan out in my opinion. The interaction and dialogue between the two main characters was unrealistic and hard to listen to.
Any additional comments?
I usually like gay fiction written by woman, it's an odd combination that can really work at times. I felt like this book was written from a woman's perspective and the cops gender was changed to make the book fit into this genre.

Ok story, didn't like the narrator
Revisado: 06-30-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrator, his reading is passionless. He speaks very quickly without much pause when reading dialog, so at times it was difficult to follow who was speaking.
Would you be willing to try another book from Mary Calmes? Why or why not?
Yes. The story was interesting enough. I liked the main character
How could the performance have been better?
Better narrator
Was Tooth and Nail worth the listening time?
It is what I expected when I bought it, a gay harlequin novel.

Historia
It’s been two years since the world ended. Two years since the dead rose and the plague of ex-humanity decimated mankind. For most of that time, the superhero called St. George, formerly known to the world as the Mighty Dragon, has protected the people of Los Angeles at their film-studio-turned-fortress, The Mount. Together with his fellow heroes, he’s tried to give the survivors hope and something like a real life. But the swollen population of The Mount is becoming harder and harder to sustain....

Super heros and zombie... get out of here!
Revisado: 06-03-12
Where does Ex-Patriots rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I love this series! It has a nice mesh of super hero bravodo and zombie slaying. I like that the villian from the last book was brought back, stronger and more demented.
What other book might you compare Ex-Patriots to and why?
It's hard for me to get anymore interested in zombie novels, sort of a big fan. The super hero was a nice twist.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nothing, I think it is read well. Not too dramatic and lets you focus on the story.
Any additional comments?
Pete Cline has made a fan of me with both of his books and I am looking forward to the next installment.

Historia
When Gulliver Leverenz abandons LA to make a fresh start in New York, he leaves behind his family, his friends - and one bastard ex-boyfriend. It’s certainly an impulse move: Gully has no job, no money, and no direction. What he does have is a former fraternity brother with a posh apartment, a crew of incredibly hot friends, and a reputation as a rising star in the gay nightlife scene. As luck would have it, Gully soon snags a job with a talent agent and even finds himself a new boyfriend. There’s just one catch...

Dirty delight!
Revisado: 06-03-12
If you could sum up Gulliver Takes Manhattan in three words, what would they be?
Dirty, dirty dirty!
Would you recommend Gulliver Takes Manhattan to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes. The book is really explicit at time, but is very tongue and cheek in a way that keeps you listening.
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene rigt before he gets his internet "job"
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Welll...several. Listen and you will know what I mean.
Any additional comments?
The fraternity brother "Bro" thing was not believable, but the characters became a littl more real by the end of the book. This was a good listen, funny and unexpectedly erotic. DO NOT listen to this at work! Looking forward to the next book.

If Stephen King wrote about zombies....
Revisado: 06-03-12
Would you try another book from Jonathan Maberry and/or William Dufris?
I would, this was and interesting twist on the typical zombie story.
Would you be willing to try another book from Jonathan Maberry? Why or why not?
Yes. The book had a hoaky feeling I liked.
How could the performance have been better?
The reader was overly dramatic, especially with the Dr. It was really annoying.
Did Dead of Night inspire you to do anything?
Keep listening!
Any additional comments?
The characters and setting reminded me of early Stephen King which was nice. How the virus was started was a standard theme, but what it took to get it was interesting. The book slowed down at the end and became sluggish, but overall I think it was a good listen.
