Historia
Although Tennessee has a rich history of political scandals dating back to the founding of the state, the last fifty years have been a confusing, confounding, and sometimes ludicrous period of ne'er-do-welling. Welcome to Capitol Hill is a guide to the state's modern history of corruption. From Governor Ray Blanton's pardon scandals to the FBI investigation that started with now lieutenant governor Randy McNally wearing a wire in the late 1980s to the sexual misconduct that plagues Tennessee politics, this book chronicles it all.

Very interesting stories of several fairly recent crooked Tennessee politicians. As a resident of Tennessee, I am very worried about the character of our legislature. Stories play well and make it hard to stop listening.

Historia
In an era of hardening religious attitudes and explosive religious violence, this book offers a welcome antidote. Richard Holloway retells the entire history of religion - from the dawn of religious belief to the 21st century - with deepest respect and a keen commitment to accuracy. Writing for those with faith and those without, and especially for young listeners, he encourages curiosity and tolerance, accentuates nuance and mystery and calmly restores a sense of the value of faith.

Historia
In Find Me the Votes, two years of immersive reporting by Isikoff and Klaidman has produced the most authoritative and dramatic account yet of a defeated president’s conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election and how a local Georgia prosecutor—a daughter of the civil rights movement—decided to indict him and his allies for his desperate attempt to hold on to power. From the beginning, Fani Willis saw Donald Trump’s crimes as a voting rights case, and an attempt by the former president to deprive the citizens of Georgia of the franchise, a right for which her forebears had bled.

Not as I expected. First 4 chapters are about her childhood and not interesting. Later, left out lots of details or her time in Government. Obviously needed to convert her 15 minutes of fame into a 11 hour audio book.

Most boring first half of a book ever.
Revisado: 03-28-18
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
If you enjoy someone reading a 60 year old, local newspaper to you, this is the book for you. The entire first half of the book is made up of excruciating details of peoples lives including the color of their vehicles!
Would you ever listen to anything by Henry Fountain again?
Never!
Would you listen to another book narrated by Robert Fass?
Yes.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Great Quake?
Most of the first half of the book.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Most Entertaining Audio Book Ever.
Revisado: 06-11-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Martian to be better than the print version?
Don't know.
What did you like best about this story?
Protagonist sense of humor made me laugh out loud even when discussing science and math problems!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Plot was very engrossing story about being stranded on Mars, but the hero's smart aleck reactions and comments made me laugh. Couldn't wait to get back and hear more.
Any additional comments?
Adapt, improvise and overcome obstacles was the plot, but the humor made it as entertaining as a stand-up comic. Narration was perfect.

Historia
From politics to the personal, from fashion to food, from the campus to the locker room, the desire to be cool has infected all aspects of our lives. At its most harmless, it is annoying. At its worst, it is deadly, on a massive scale. The Cool are the termites of life, infiltrating every nook and cranny and destroying it from within. The Cool report the news, write the scripts, teach our children, run our government - and each day they pass judgment on those who don’t worship their coolness.
