Historia
Of all the things that could have landed in her yard, it had to be him. For most people, finding a half-naked superbeing in their yard might be a dream come true. Unfortunately for Gracie Castro, it’s the exact opposite. Especially when he’s grouchy, rude, and shows no signs of leaving anytime soon. But when a hero of mankind needs you, you do what you have to. Even if it compromises everything you know. And totally changes your life.

I thought the character development could have been better and the story dragged quite a bit.

Incredible!!
Revisado: 01-18-25
Just WOW!! This book was incredible, bingeable and even more than that memorable, because I have never read anything like it. I loved reading a book in the figure skating world and then to have that book be so incredible was even better!
I don’t want to give anything away, I think going in blind is the best, but I can say that I had no idea how this story would conclude and come together and somehow Layne did it. The ending was worthy of the story that led us there. Highly suggest this one, you won’t regret it!

Revisado: 11-24-24
This book was so charming and unique. I loved that although it is a holiday book, the relationships and love between our characters stands out more than the holiday. Maggie is truly the sweetest, kindest, most genuine person and I really want to be her best friend. The way she cares for her friends was so touching and made me feel like our world needs so many more people like her.
The friendships were touching, the romance was full of all the feels and the ending was beautiful. 😍

Revisado: 02-07-24
This book is the first in a series and I don’t usually rate books in a series until it is completed, BUT O just could not help myself. I loved this book so much. The audio was phenomenal, it made the story really come alive. I loved all the characters so much and the twist in the Robin Hood story was so unique. I loved the passion that came with just a kiss and all the feels the relationship between the two main characters made me feel. I loved how the story surprised me in multiple spots and had me guessing until the end. I am so excited to read book

Now, Varic has power greater than any wizard in galactic history, but he knows that won’t be enough. The enemies he faced in those alternate lives were apocalyptic in scale. Terrors of technology and magic. Nothing that he, or anyone, can defeat.

Incredibly breathtaking
Revisado: 12-05-23
This book was a true gift. A gift of hope and a gift of the reminder that life is fleeting. Sure we say it, we say live life like today is your last day, but this book shows us how true that sentiment can be. Every moment of this book was a joy to read- even the hard parts. A reminder that life goes on and that sometimes we have to reevaluate when what we expected changes.
Also I think Hugh is one of my all time favorite characters. Without giving anything away…his gentle friendship and love were so incredible to witness.
Please read this book..I implore you. I just know you will love it. Although a sad topic is the focus of this book, sadness was never where my feelings stayed. I was filled with hope along the whole journey and I hope you will be as well.

So good!!!
Revisado: 11-26-22
This book was phenomenally written, I mean like I could not put it down. With that being said it is most defiantly going to be a trigger for people that cannot read about rape. The way that Mia wrote about Josie was so dimensional. Being in head both during her abduction and after was truly mind blowing. There were so many parts that were beyond hard to read, but I just had to know what happened and the ending was shocking and so exactly perfect. I highly suggest this one if you like a good romantic suspense. Be prepared to not want to put it down once you start, it is just that good.

Loved it!!
Revisado: 10-08-21
This book was so original, I absolutely loved the concept. Imagine you are in a horrible life altering even where you are the only one who survives out of over 20 people. How do you go on? Why were you saved? These questions and so many more play out in this beautifully written novel.
I loved so much about this novel. Each and every character had a purpose, something about their life added to the richness of the story as it unfolded. I also loved that although it is a Christian story it is one that will appeal to a diverse group of readers. I never felt like the Christian theme was not genuine. It was not forced and played out very naturally.
Up until the very end of this book I was going to rate it a 4, I thought it was very good, but was missing that extra special thing to push it over the edge for me into a 5. Then Ina Mae spoke and the story she told touched me to much it brought me to tears. And then of that wasn’t enough this one little nugget left such an impact on my heart, “Circumstances do not change who God is.” And the simple verse, “Jesus wept,” has never meant so much.
I feel so blessed to have listened to this novel. The characters came alive in a way I’m not sure they would have if I had just read it. I highly recommend this story. I hope it leaves you with the same peace and hope it left me.

Just Okay
Revisado: 03-21-21
I love Jennifer Peel’s work but this book fell a little short for me. Brooks and Grace knew each other when they were high school. Grace felt from the time they were in high school that Brooks was made for her. Due to life, they have not seen each other in many years. As we get to know Brooks I honestly could not stand him. He needed to get a backbone so much earlier in the book. It was just so hard for me to root for Grace and Brooks because Brooks was no I likeable to me. Excited to read another Jennifer Peel book since I think this is an outlier for her usual work.
