Wow, this is not what i expected and the overly positive reviews seem to be bots or hired by publisher. Dan Patrick is an icon and this spoof did a great job of capturing a lot of the history and ridiculousness of the NFL today. A lifelong football fan,

I would’ve said this is a waste except so many parts I recognize allow me to connect with my son on football history. It’s at a tone he will listen to - enough so that I bought the book afterwards (hoping he will read it first).

I loved this audiobook! I gave it stars for story because it was repetitive in its core message - over and over - which the book could’ve been half the length with all the intensity! I’m super glad I purchased and listened to this audiobook! Don’t be a hater — go out and take action!

This was a very enjoyable surprise find! Being in Rome as a frequent visitor, I was looking for something historical but on the lighter side. This audiobook really hit the mark. Excellent narrator with numerous accents to help mark the various characters. Highly recommend!

I was thrilled to find this audiobook while researching tickets to the Aberdeen Ironbirds. As a longtime fan of baseball, now with kids age 10 & 7, I find going to minor league games more enjoyable than the majors. My son always finds a way to rustle a ball or two from the bullpen or a foul ball. We play on the grass near the foul line or outfield wall just inches from the playing field.

Greg Larson provides the backstory to all this magic around a night at the minor league ballpark. I wanted to listen to it to make sure it wasn’t too adult for my son to read — it isn’t (but I imagine it could’ve been!). I bought the book knowing he will love it and will enjoy our Ironbirds games even more.

Greg, thanks for sharing your two seasons with us! Your book helped introduce reforms into player salaries and other pieces of minor league servitude. Highly recommended!

Can’t believe I waited so long to inhale this beautiful book! So fascinating and also informative. Applying some of the early concepts after two years of yoga and basic breath work provided me tremendous improvement (and validation) with my anxiety, snoring, and general well-being. Pushing further into more advanced techniques has helped me with my athletic training and performance and mindset.

Great story, abrupt and unsatisfying ending

So many good images and narratives of colonial East Africa, and certainly the not much illustrated German Ost-Africa (at least in English). Having lived on the coast of southern Kenya, I could visualize and imagine the landscape and village stories. The ending was incredibly abrupt and unsatisfying. It’s as if 20 years were summarized in a few pages and then that was that!

This was the best! Luke really shared what made the motor of a too small, too slow, too whatever — and how commitment, work ethic, and intelligence can elevate to hall of fame status! Quality person with quality upbringing and positive infection on a TEAM.

I was always a fan of Steve Smith, the playmaker and wily one. As a Utah fan, I cheered for him his whole career, and knew he played with a chip on his shoulder and have greater appreciation now of why. I would’ve liked more perspectives of other teammates about how they felt with SS as a leader in their locker rooms…

I really love every episode - especially those with respected offensive linemen. I love hearing about the games within the game, the struggle to make it week to week with injuries or struggles to play against an all-pro in your division 2x/year!

Great insights into the realities of the game with lights and cameras, but without appreciation for the training room or locker room. Well done!

I just found this podcast a week ago and have been excited to listen to all episodes now. Great insights about the game, the league, and especially the underappreciated role of offensive line and how important team and group cohesiveness mean to success. I love listening to veterans with a winning mindset and navigating the ups and downs of a locker room. I also appreciate some OL legends of the game - Anthony Muñoz, Jackie Slater, Nick Mangold, Corey Lindsley and then other positions - Jared Allen, Christian McCaffery, Luke Keukley. I love the insights of hard work, preparation and field study, the nuances of the game, the changes in the game (PFF rankings and fantasy football) and creating a long term winning culture. LOVE this! Thanks Audible and thanks to Ryan and team!
