What a Ride!!!
Revisado: 04-10-25
Kurt Argento is an Ex Detroit Police Officer thrown into a private prison by a crooked sheriff in Missouri on false charges. The same day he arrives is the same day the prison undergoes an extremely violent and lethal riot with inmates outnumbering prison staff.
This book has vivid details on the pain and suffering characters undergo. The narrators do an exceptional job with their performance and the story kept me actively engaged wondering what will happen next, what else can go wrong and who will make it out alive!
Please listen to this for fans of crime conspiracies & violent action-thrillers!!!

Green reviews Life itself!
Revisado: 08-08-24
Although the premise of reviewing life itself with all of its complexities, his personal experiences as well as historical moments that changed the world seem interesting...I just wasn't into it. A majority of what he was reviewing I didn't have interest in, and it felt like the chapters didn't have a smooth transition once they finished.
I'd recommend this for people that are fans of his work, but for first time listeners of Green in wouldn't advise.

Historia
The traditional “check list” of becoming an adult has existed for decades. Sociologists have long identified these markers of adulthood as: completing school, leaving home, establishing a career/becoming financially independent, getting married, and having children. But the signifiers of being in our thirties today are not the same - repeated economic upheaval, rising debt, decreasing marriage rates, fertility treatments, and a more open-minded society have all led to a shifting definition of adulthood.

Started off Strong, than dwindled out.
Revisado: 12-25-23
I liked being assured that people nowadays feeling lost, incomplete, uncertain, etc about their place in life is normal. Using examples of people going through different struggles such as with their Career, Romantic Partners, and Living Situation was great! Unfortunately using multiple examples per topic of discussion sometimes felt convoluted/too much to understand as it would swap between person A's story to person B's story a bit often near the end.
It is still an interesting listen, especially for those that need assurance that it's okay to not feel "like your supposed to" by the time they're in their 30s.

Amazon turn this into a TV show!!!
Revisado: 01-04-23
This 3rd book in the franchise felt like an incredible third season for a tv show! Characters we've grown attached to have their backstories explained more in depth, and while introducing new faces it does an amazing job at re-introducing old faces.
For all fans of Sci-Fi with Religious-Esque Fantasy Definitely give this a listen!

Revisado: 05-06-22
The entire cast here, especially Paul Rudd do an excellent job at telling a tale similar to Gilligan's Island, but based upon VR Technology of the Future.
Warning: this radio drama does have puns and other quirky comedic moments not everyone will like, but I enjoyed it a lot!

Revisado: 09-23-21
Superb voice acting to this exciting tale of emerging tech that can change the world!
We've all have been curious to know what the future might hold, this story explores what would happen if a researcher and a businessman create a device that can foresee a year into the future, and try giving it to the masses. How would society and our government react to it? How would it change our world, but most importantly how it would change people.
Definitely listen for fans of Sci-Fi, Dramas, and the philosophy of Time Travel and it's impact on Free Will

TV Viewers Must Binge this!!!
Revisado: 07-08-21
Eric Williams discusses the history and complexity of television throughout the decades and explores how changing technology and a changing society impacted the three golden ages of television.
Williams is clearly passionate and educated on the subject matter going into the creation of hit shows from the past, to the 2010s. This audiobook may be listed as a Great Course, but it is an Amazing Listen as well!
I would highly recommend this as someone who watches TV everyday, and is fascinated by the industry. If you binged a series of any show in the past week, take one week (or less) to marathon this!!!

Sex, Lies, Greed and Drugs.
Revisado: 06-19-21
I was already a fan of David Kushner's work as I listened to his audiobook Masters of Doom. Kushner has an excellent way of re-telling the origins of pieces of technology that we still use today.
In The Players Ball we learn of the origin story of Match.com and Sex.com and the multi-billion dollar battle that ensued. The websites were initially created by tech genius Gary Kremen going against a con-artist/evil-genius Stephen Michael Cohen believing he was the founder of the website.
This book demonstrates how the 90s was the wild west of online businesses and the people behind the sites were motivated for a greater good of society, or for one's own greed. Once the money comes in, so are all the ramifications of alcohol, drugs, and lawsuits.
Hollywood NEEDS to adapt this into a TV miniseries because it has a nerdy lonely character we can root for, and an absolutely despicable liar I myself could not stand and could not believe this all is based on a true story.
a MUST-LISTEN for tech enthusiasts, 90s nostalgia and true crime (white collar crime that is)

Good Acting, Slow in the Middle but picks up!
Revisado: 09-20-19
I have always heard of this story by the great Agatha Christie, but never read the original. This is in its own right, a fun Radio Drama to enjoy to pass the time.
I normally don't consume that much mystery so the middle of the story when the detective is asking thousands of questions to each character slightly bored me. All clues lie in the details however, pay attention to the dialogue especially!
The end will be satisfying to everyone listening.
Definitely a Recommended Listen :)

Informational but dull
Revisado: 09-12-19
Originally I was excited to see what our bodies tell others without even recognizing it, but there are moments that are just common sense.
I understand the author has decades of experience in law enforcement telling tales of how useful the skill has come, but what made it a dry delivery was the narrator for me personally did not grab my attention.
Perhaps it was my own listening experience that made me feel this way, but it felt somewhat monotone and the author dragged out some parts of his lessons.
A good listen for people that interested in this topic and especially those getting into a field such as law enforcement that will have to learn how to read people, but other than that not a highly recommend listen.
