This was a lovely book that I could escape into with great characters that you care about. I’ll have to find other books by this author.

You must have loved the original movie - and if you did - this is great! Wonderfully read by Ralph Maccio with lots of Karate Kid anecdotes and stories about the Kobra Kai series. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This book gave voice to objects, and thoughts/ideas, that I never would have known about. Made all the more engrossing by the myriad of women readers. Highly recommend!

What an incredible story of a family’s journey with homelessness and alcoholism but told through tiny positive vignettes. Never seemed depressive throughout all of their travails. Very courageous for the author to tell this story - and it was just so beautifully written.

Too much whining… and gasping

I understood from another review that this was a kind of reversed Stepford Wives but the first 2/3 of the book was the protagonist complaining in excruciating detail about the unfair work balance with her husband. I kept listening but it got so repetitive and… boring even while the author was trying to weave suspense. But the worst part was the performance. I’ve never had a reader who takes a large, gasping breath at the end of EVERY sentence. I could barely get through it.
