Historia
Picking up where he left off in his electrifying Letter to the American Church, Eric Metaxas renews and deepens his call to believers not to “practice” their faith but to live it—heroically and with joy. Invoking famous but misunderstood words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, he shows that God’s answer to evil is “religionless Christianity”—the rejection of religiosity and the embrace of a living and active faith, one that consumes the whole person and affects every aspect of his life. The awakening of this faith will bring revival, a “new birth of freedom,” and a renaissance of Christian culture.

Historia
From a renowned behavioral neuroscientist and recovering addict, a rare pause-resisting work of science that draws on personal insights to reveal how drugs work, the dangerous hold they can take on the brain, and the surprising way to combat today's epidemic of addiction. Judith Grisel was a daily drug user and college dropout when she began to consider that her addiction might have a cure, one that she herself could perhaps discover by studying the brain. Now, after 25 years as a neuroscientist, she shares what she and other scientists have learned about addiction.

Good insight
Revisado: 02-28-24
On the audible the chapter titles are not properly written for chapters 3,4 & 5 in the index of chapters. The author obviously quotes the chapter title properly!!
Audible says chapter 3 is ‘One Silent Example’ when the book actually says “One Salient Example”
Audible Chapter 4 says “Dream Livers” when actual book chapter title is “Dream Weavers”
Audible Chapter 5 says “The Such Hammer” while the actual chapter title is “The Sledgehammer”
Disappointed in seeing that is done to this author’s creativity!

Social Justice Fallacies

Historia
The quest for social justice is a powerful crusade of our time, with an appeal to many different people, for many different reasons. But those who use the same words do not always present the same meanings. Clarifying those meanings is the first step toward finding out what we agree on and disagree on. From there, it is largely a question of what the facts are. Social Justice Fallacies reveals how many things that are thought to be true simply cannot stand up to documented facts, which are often the opposite of what is widely believed.

Trust Thomas Sowell’s analysis
Revisado: 02-21-24
This is a book I will listen to again and again as Dr Sowell is highly insightful on this fallacy of the present ‘social justice’ system that is nothing about making society more just! Highly recommended reading and listening and living out!!

Unvarnished truth

A great example of telling the story without sanitizing the entire reality of the life of a hero we need to live with his spiritually deep character.

Historia
When Craig Cooper and Walker Hayes met, Walker was an alcoholic atheist reeling from the backlash of a failed music career. Through their unlikely friendship, Craig’s life demonstrated the love of Christ in a way that shattered Walker’s misconceptions of Christianity, ultimately leading him down the path to a dramatic conversion. The two are now close as brothers, choosing to be next-door neighbors, and ripped out the fence between their homes as a testament to the power of the gospel to break down barriers and unite people together in Christ.

This is a beautiful picture of GOD’s love
Revisado: 01-30-24
This is a beautiful picture of the reality of GOD’s love for all. Walker and Craig reading it together is a great blessing and example of how to love your neighbor as yourself because you love GOD above all else!
