An extraordinary memoir!
Revisado: 03-21-23
This is one of the most powerful books I’ve ever read! Father Boyle’s narration of his own memoir is so pleasing to listen to. I didn’t want it to end. This truly is a story that shows us, so powerfully, how Jesus wants us to live while we are here on earth—with boundless compassion. This book is a true masterpiece worth reading. Buckle up and get ready to be challenged and inspired.

Historia
When Mark Henick was a teenager in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, he was overwhelmed by depression and anxiety that led to a series of increasingly dangerous suicide attempts. One night, he climbed onto a bridge over an overpass and stood in the wind, clinging to a girder. Just as Henick’s feet touched open air, a man in a brown coat encircled his chest and pulled him to safety. This near-death experience changed Henick’s life forever. So-Called Normal is Henick’s memoir about growing up in a broken home and the events that led to that fateful night on the bridge.

This was an incredible story of triumph and resilience created through enormous struggle. It gave me encouragement and hope for my precious daughter who has walked (and is still walking) through the valley of mental illness. Narrator was perfect—a comforting voice who told this story well. Highly recommend!

Historia
In This Is Me, Chrissy Metz shares her story with a raw honesty that will leave listeners both surprised but also inspired. Infused with the same authenticity she brings to her starring role, Chrissy's This Is Me is so much more than your standard Hollywood memoir or collection of personal essays. She embraces the spirit of Shonda Rhimes' Year of Yes and shares how she has applied the lessons she learned from both setbacks and successes. A born entertainer, Chrissy finds light in even her darkest moments and leaves the listener feeling they are spending time with a friend who gets it.

Powerful story!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought it was especially amazing to hear Chrissy’s story narrated by herself. She had so much valuable insight for all women! What an amazing success story. Well done, Ms. Metz!!
