Historia
In Saturn's Children, Freya is an obsolete android concubine in a society where humans haven't existed for hundreds of years. A rigid caste system keeps the Aristos, a vindictive group of humanoids, well in control of the lower, slave-chipped classes. So when Freya offends one particularly nasty Aristo, she's forced to take a dangerous courier job off-planet.

relatively good
Revisado: 08-09-19
I wish there was a trigger warning for rape content. I only deducted one star because it wasn't a huge part of the book, but it would have been nice to know it was there so I could have either not bought the book or at least avoided that section. Of course, that's kind of hard to do in an audio book, and so I ended up leaving the room for a while and missing part of the book. Other than that, it was a good book.

Short and hilarious, 10/10 would listen again.
Revisado: 07-09-19
Adam Baldwin narrating a book in which he is IN the book as a character and there are also Firefly references? I know I'll listen to this again!
And the book would be hilarious without Baldwin narrating - that just ups the meta factor. :-)

I think this is possibly the best book I've ever read. however, I wish I'd read a print version, because I had to "rewind" several times because I'd somehow missed incredibly important information which was just touched on at the end of a chapter and left for half an hour until the next chapter... ah well. yay multitasking.

There was one narrator that I fell asleep during (twice, lol), but that didn't detract from the book as a whole. The concept is fascinating, and while it's not going to be my new favorite, I'm glad I read it, and I'll definitely put it on my list of books to buy in physical form.

Historia
The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

I didn't want it to end, and the last bit with Archimedes had me sobbing even though I knew it was coming back in book two. But now, after listening to all three books, I'm putting them on my wishlist for physical copies, because they are FANTASTIC, and also because I definitely process audio differently than the written word, so I need to read the trilogy again.

Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message". Fantastic narration and writing, but...
Revisado: 06-10-19
I liked Harry up until the last chapter. I liked the book up until then. I even thought there was a possibility of some kind of redemption arc. The ending was... well, believable but... I guess you could say it left a bad taste in my mouth, though the ending was appropriate. I'm not really sure how I feel about the book.

Historia
A century ago, the Sentience Wars tore the galaxy apart and nearly ended the entire concept of intelligent space-faring life. In the aftermath, a curious tradition was invented - something to cheer up everyone who was left and bring the shattered worlds together in the spirit of peace, unity, and understanding. Once every cycle, the civilizations gather for the Metagalactic Grand Prix - part gladiatorial contest, part beauty pageant, part concert extravaganza, and part continuation of the wars of the past.

Everything about this book is amazing. I finished the audible version and turned around and started the kindle version, and I am buying the hard cover as well, because I know it's the kind of book I'm going to read over and over.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Fantastic
Revisado: 06-03-15
I loved this book. It was funny yet also made you think, both about fate vs free will and what you're doing with your life. The ending was perfect. I would have been pretty irritated had it ended any other way. The narration, of course, was fantastic as well.
