Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Almost quit listening … glad I didn’t!
Revisado: 07-05-23
So I almost quit listening to this book halfway through. The blatant manipulation by the man and the unwillingness to see his actions for what they were on the main character’s part had me cringing, rolling my eyes, & almost giving up. So glad I didn’t though! That plot twist at the end was worth it.

Historia
They were the gentlemen bad boys of rock. Forming in a garage in a small town in Indiana. Taking their licks on the road. Going balls to the wall until they made their big break. And then Preacher McCade and the Roadmasters redefined rock and roll. Guided by their tortured lead singer and songwriter, the Roadmasters changed the face of music in the '80s and '90s. And on their journey to becoming one of the most enduring bands in history - dogged by rumors and myth and fueled by drugs and booze - the Roadmasters had one touchstone.

Not a fan of interview style writing …
Revisado: 11-04-19
Umm …this possibly could’ve been a great story … if it were written in a different format. I never felt as though a got a good grasp on what was going on in the character’s minds. There was no internal discussion or dialogue. When Jessie’s character was described Lyla’s character I kept thinking, “Could this BE any less descriptive?!” And Preacher’s character … he was a jerk and I still felt like he was part jerk when the interview was over. I really couldn’t get a grasp on the relationship between the band members other than Jessie, Preacher & Deshawn. The other ones … I had no basis for making a full characterization besides what Jessie describes the as which I’ve already stated was incomplete. The performance by the voice actors was exceptionally except Preacher’s cajun accent … has the actor even heard a true Cajun speak before? Loved Lyla’s voice though and her style of voice.

Historia
At Twin Oaks Country Club, there are the fortunate ones, and then there are the rest of us: the waiters, the caddies, the valets, and in my case, the cabana girls. Most days, I’m poolside in a pleated skirt, dishing out margaritas to tycoons and titans. It’s not exactly my dream job, but it does come with one perk.... James Ashwood. He’s my silver lining in a custom black suit. Besides being a legacy member at the club, he’s a tech mogul and Austin’s most eligible bachelor.

The Fortunate Ones is one of my all time favorite RS Grey’s books. I absolutely adore how Brittany Presley reads her books too. It’s exactly how I hear them in my head when I’m reading!

This book had me cracking up in the Kroger parking lot while I was getting out of my car! The man parked next to me gave me some weird looks. I love listening to Amy McFadden’s voice too!

Love this story!
Revisado: 11-23-18
I’ve listened to this book several times and it doesn’t get old. Mia Sheridan’s books are filled with tragedy, angst and ultimate love … the best kind of reads. The male & female narrations are spot on and the Irish brogue is easy to listen to without the cringe of being artificial.
