Historia
Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, one of the few capable of hunting the monsters that prey on humanity. He uses magical signs, potions, and the pride of every Witcher—two swords, steel and silver. But a contract has gone wrong, and Geralt finds himself without his signature weapons. Now he needs them back, because sorcerers are scheming, and across the world clouds are gathering. The season of storms is coming.

My favorite book so far
Revisado: 02-21-25
The pacing is excellent, not too much jumping around to less important side characters, plenty of characterization for Geralt and Ciri, and for once a happy ending.

Historia
To protect his ward, Ciri, Geralt of Rivia, sends her away from the home of the Witchers to train with the sorceress Yennefer. But all is not well within the Wizard's Guild in the second book of the NYT best-selling series that inspired the blockbuster video games. Geralt is a witcher: guardian of the innocent; protector of those in need; a defender, in dark times, against some of the most frightening creatures of myth and legend. His task, now, is to protect Ciri. A child of prophecy, she will have the power to change the world for good or for ill.

Lots of Ciri
Revisado: 02-12-25
Ciri is slowly but surely becoming the main protagonist, not Geralt. She goes through a lot in this book. It's both entertaining and heart wrenching.

Historia
By one of the most profoundly influential thinkers of our century, The Rebel is a classic essay on revolution. For Albert Camus, the urge to revolt is one of the "essential dimensions" of human nature, manifested in man's timeless Promethean struggle against the conditions of his existence, as well as the popular uprisings against established orders throughout history. And yet, with an eye toward the French Revolution and its regicides and deicides, he reveals how inevitably the course of revolution leads to tyranny.

Historia
Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

The perfect ending to the perfect trilogy
Revisado: 09-07-24
Lisbeth is by far my favorite fictional character of all time. The only bad part about this story is that it ends.
