I enjoyed the pulling back of the curtain and a look into the little idiosyncrasies and minute details that go into the storytelling of wrestling. Because what is professional wrestling if not a book of tales people have chosen to tell each week? It is both live theater and action movie (hell even a musical or two).
I found myself laughing from the gut at the tales of Jon on the Indy scene or a recounting of friends he's made (And lost) along the way. (Sorry Eddie). I even found myself in tears and knowing precisely what Jon went through when he lost friends. I had chills and renewed excitement for a passion I'd let go of for a long time. But most of all I'm reminded of the joy and excitement I'd felt as a kid hearing about matches and the way an arena Looks from a performer's perspective.
Wrestling has and always will belong to the fans. Even those who go out week after week and night after night to do their job are fans who are living their dreams they once saw at 12 or maybe younger.
I don't suspect I'll ever be a diehard Jon Moxley fan but on Wednesday I know he'll have one more person hooked into the story he's telling inside the squared circle.
Do yourself the favor and pick it up and give it a try. If you're not a wrestling fan by the end of the book, you read it wrong.

It's like being with a friend

I knew I had to get this book in some form after it released and my local stores didn't have a physical copy. So when it came time for my audible credits to roll out, I knew I had to get this one. I was not disappointed at all. Sitting down to listen to Dave Grohl read you his words about his life was like sitting down with an old friend for coffee. I had to force myself to stop at one point or I would have listened to all ten hours straight through. I loved every second of living Dave's life second hand. From his growing up in DC to being one of the best names in Rock music. I hung onto every word. My favorite parts were about how he likened music to religion and when he talked about being a fan boy to many musicians. I had to pause multiple times with the opener to part 3 and openly wept as he recounted a day that will forever live in infamy to anyone who grew up with Dave and his bands being in the house. Storyteller is the embodiment of music saving and touches lives with just a simple note, beat, song. I absolutely loved this book and will be listening to it again and again. Let the music play on. And remember to always follow the music, you never know where it will take you.

Eye opening

I picked this up on a whim with my KU Subscription. I'd always loved Bar Rescue and didn't know Jon had Written a book. I wasn't expecting to get a business lesson as well as a look into the bar business! Even though this book does focus on the hospitality industry, some of the stuff can be implemented into your own business, no matter what it is!

Chasing Fire is one of my favorite books by Nora Roberts I own every version that was printed, the hard back, paperback and the e-book, and now on Audio. Narrators are hit and miss with me but I enjoyed Ms. Lowman's narration of one of the books I adore.

I've wanted to read this book for ages and could never get my hands on a physical copy, but managed to get the anniversary edition Audio. It was so much better than the book. It made me cry, laugh, and scream. Nikki's voice is one of my favorites so listening to his own words, I'm his own voice was amazing. I still want the physical book, but for now listening to Nikki over and over again will do.
