Historia
Being in a relationship without knowing how to share your feelings and receive your partner’s feelings in useful ways is like jumping into a pool without knowing how to swim. You can flail around all you want, but it’s not going to keep you afloat for very long—you need to be able to move in any direction at will. Like swimming, knowing how to share your feelings and respond to your partner's feelings will move your relationship in the direction you want: toward more intimacy, closeness, connection, and trust.

Helpful reminders and insight to communicating
Revisado: 08-20-24
This book is short and sweet. It shares how to communicate better with your partner and iterates realistic examples of what not to do. You know...those moments when you communicate without thinking and get into the same looped conversations that don't seem to change. This book gives examples and basic solutions to change what is being said to garner a better understanding of one another.

Good story, detailed sex and violence though.
Revisado: 01-26-23
This is a good story that is historically accurate during a time of great turmoil in Great Britain with fictional characters. The author goes into detail about the building of cathedrals and the hierarchy of the catholic religion. The reading is well done, but it is not for those who are sensitive to violent sex. not for young adults

Loved this series for years
Revisado: 11-23-20
Both narrators for this series are top notch and easy to listen to (they are both notable award winners). I started this story decades ago (before audible) and reread it every 5 or 6 years. It has a multitude of characters and storylines that keep me interested and the world is a fascinating place to escape to. This book starts the adventure in a small town with simple characters and progresses into traveling and adventure mode. With trollocs, shades, bards, and ogier it is bound to please. There is plenty of action with a sprinkling of very light romance it keeps you entertained.

Soothing rain! The pitter-patter and splashing of raindrops has a calming effect, probably because it takes us back to a time before we were born. We hear similar sounds in our mother's womb. The monotony and evenness of the rain relaxes and calms us so that we can sleep better. Content: six rain melodies, recorded with state-of-the-art recording technology for unique audio quality. Soft to heavy rain in HD stereo, perfect for falling asleep, for use in wellness and meditation areas, for radio/film/television, or as soft background sound.

Chapters 2-8
Revisado: 07-19-20
I am one that enjoys the sound of rain or waterfalls when I sleep. I don't care much for the sound of music, talk, or birds as it tends to wake me up. Chapter 1 is just an introduction, if you like voice soothing, it is alright but it isn't my thing.
I found that chapters 2-8 work well for me and could keep these on a loop. These chapters are nice as they are a constant, pleasant noise with a little variation but not so much that it wakes me up or disturbs my sleep.
My spouse and I have different schedules and this tamps down the sound of him getting up while I am still sleeping. Chapters 9 and 10 have some music in it but it is light so it isn't too bad when I am utilizing it for noise screening when I am trying to concentrate without being disturbed but I don't care for it for sleeping.

Historia
The Dynize have unlocked the Landfall Godstone, and Michel Bravis is tasked with returning to Greenfire Depths to do whatever he can to prevent them from using its power: from sewing dissension among the enemy ranks to rallying the Palo population. Ben Styke's invasion of Dynize is curtailed when a storm scatters his fleet. Coming ashore with just 20 lancers, he is forced to rely on brains rather than brawn - gaining new allies in a strange land on the cusp of its own internal violence.

I enjoyed this story and the narrator
Revisado: 04-23-20
I enjoyed this story and the narrator was great. However, ***I am not very happy that they changed narrators for the last part of this story (the third book in this series).*** Both Rodska and Telfer were great but it is a bit disconcerting to change narrators in the middle of a series. The listener has to adjust to the different depictions of each character to match with the first two books. If it had been an offshoot story it would have been a bit easier but with the main story, it should be avoided because it is taxing to your listener. It took me at least 2 hours to get used to the characters being done in a different voice. Telfer has a great voice and is an easy listen, just different than Rodska.
With that being said the story is intricate with several characters and plots to keep a variety of people interested. Characters have lots of fighting to do and lots of love interests. I will listen to this series again and find things I didn't hear the first time! Thanks! I enjoyed it.

Well Done!
Revisado: 04-12-20
The characters are well developed. several storylines to follow and plenty of action and intrigue. Well worth my money! I could easily listen to this story several times and catch things that I missed the first time! Good Epic Fantasy.
This book has well-developed characters, excellent plots, and intrigue. It has plenty of battles for those who enjoy them. I sometimes find battle details arduous, so for me to enjoy this book says a lot. The author thought about how to describe the detail of battles without being cumbersome (a true feat in my book).
There are several characters to follow along with and a plethora of plots to enjoy. This is a structured series that can be listened to several times. I am a fan of Brandon Sanderson and did not realize that his description of this book is "Just plain awesome". I have to say, that is the best characterization of this adventure.
This series is not one of the frivolous books one listens to just fill time. It takes time to get to know the characters and fully enjoy the experience of being in another world. I also liked that some female characters were put in powerful positions and they were seamless!
Some seriously good writing and excellent delivery! Christian Rodska brings this story to life! Thank you for all of your hard work!
