Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

I love this book! Short and to the point. Fun and definitely reminds me of the robot from lost in space. I’m excited to continue this series.

Page turner
Revisado: 04-29-25
Let me start by saying, I LOVED this book. It flowed easily similar to hunger games, or scythe. It is easy to follow for readers dipping their toes into fantasy/sci-fi books. I felt conflicted with the MC in parts of the story. Can one truly start to move on so quickly? It made me feel uneasy and perhaps even a bit angry. This fast paced book was fun. I loved the names. Especially the name helldiver. Very clever. I highly recommend to all that love the underdog rise up and take vengeance.

You will be warm again
Revisado: 04-22-25
Wow. This was a mountain of a book. It took awhile to get into like the way of kings. Slow start, but the ending was epic and a true page turner. This book was healing. I think many who face dark days, depression, and grief will find comfort in these books. This book was extremely quotable. I had tears both happy and sad. The ending was satisfying. I laughed and was also so hurt by some pages that I took a whole week of a break to digest what happened. This series is one that is life changing. It healed parts of me I didn’t know needed healing. I love these characters and will miss them. I can’t wait to welcome them back when the second wave of books to the series come out. I recommend to all, but especially those still trying to heal. For you will be warm again. Five stars.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 04-06-25
I LOVE this series! It’s an amazing pace, which for most books is hard to achieve throughout a series. The characters have depth and a beautiful arc. The FMC’s are such a great duo. Both are tough. One is cutthroat tough while the other is tough yet feminine. I love that. Many female characters are all about being a warrior which I do love, but it’s being over played. Kathryn’s character is unique, thoughtful, and memorable. Jane is the antihero that portrayed grief, soldier ptsd, and healing. She is a character that, like Kathryn, I couldn’t give up on. You’ll find yourself rooting for her throughout the book. I love the ending so much. It’s satisfying. I highly hope there are more books in this series. It’s one I will think of often. The characters feel like old friends. The narration was amazing as always. Great writing! This is now one of my all time favorite authors. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this book, or anything that can be improved. It’s flawless like Jane and Kathryn.

Historia
Jane McKeene was born two days before the dead began to walk the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - derailing the War Between the States and changing the nation forever. In this new America, safety for all depends on the work of a few, and laws like the Native and Negro Education Act require certain children attend combat schools to learn to put down the dead.

I couldn’t put this book down!
Revisado: 04-04-25
I mostly physically read and do audible for the same book since I’m a mom of five. Even with five kids, I managed to finish this book in two days! It’s amazing! The voice acting was incredible and all the different voices she did was on point! I will even say this is the best voice acting I’ve heard from any other audible I’ve heard thus far. The story is brilliant and I can picture everything well. I love the characters! Their development and friendships build in a beautiful way. The length was perfect without any fluff. I was a big fan of Abe Lincoln vampire hunter and this has similar vibes as far as monsters in an American history setting. I already ordered the second book! Highly recommend!

Amazing characters
Revisado: 03-29-25
This book is likely my favorite of the hunger games books. You know how it ends, yet you’re captivated with the characters. Keeping an audience that already knows the ending is truly impressive from the author. I loved the banter, getting to know the characters, hearing some back story. The finals pages were perfect. This book was perfect. Perfect pacing, characters, and getting to know more back story. There’s nothing I would change. I cried, laughed, and grieved with Haymitch. He was my favorite character, so learning more of his story was gut wrenching, but also helped me understand him more.

Not as good as previous books
Revisado: 02-09-25
I was amped up for this book’s release date. It got pushed back a lot, but as soon as it was delivered, I read it. The audiobook was brilliant as the others, but this book had way too much smut. I loved the other books because it was more about friendship and real love. This book had people just meeting then the smut followed. No flow. It didn’t have that natural flow books need. It had a good twist and a couple good battles. The ending was good, but some evil characters didn’t have a satisfying death. I was mostly sad that some of the main characters from previous books were barely in the last!!! I couldn’t believe all the new characters that were crammed into this book. It felt forced. I can’t stand how she made another favorite character fall near instantly in love with three men at the same time. Ok, the main character had a love triangle, but it felt realistic and not forced. The other character falling for three men? That felt forced and out of her character. Diana was barely in this which was disappointing. I wanted to hear more about Jared and his love with her healing journey. I didn’t get that either. It just felt forced. I think this could have been easily fixed. I was let down pretty badly with this book and I must say I’m a huge fan of this series. I hate how this just became about smut rather than a good story. I still have three stars because I love the characters, but it was hard to get through. I did skip most smut scenes and honestly some of the relationships were just ridiculous. I’m disappointed. This story was so great and the characters were amazing. Everything felt out of character and disjointed. The powers got a bit too much as well. I’m sad this is over and I will miss the characters. I still recommend the books, but want to warn people about the last book. It felt as if it was written by a different person.

Five stars. I was blown away once again. I cried, laughed, got angry, and fell deeper in love with the characters. I cheered them on and felt as though I was in this beautiful world Sanderson created. Highly recommend. Ended the year with a bang.

3.5 star. This is a good story, but it took a long time to get to the point. I saw the ending a mile away. This is a fun little story, but I don’t think I’d reread it.
